Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Meeting Church had changed his life.

In the past he was always locked up, solumn and kept himself away from al others. Rarely did a smile touch his maw or did he feeling anything but apathy. It wasn’t that he wasn’t capable of feeling it was that he was normally too tired to care. Lack of sleep and fighting his demons had left him constantly on guard when h was alert then exhausted most the other time. Church though changed everything. Never had he found peace in his dreams, not ever, even as a child his dreams were filled with the demons that he protected the world from. Now his dreams were pleasant and no longer was he restless and never slept, when she was gone he didn’t sleep but when she returned peace returned to him and he could rest more soundly than ever.

Life was perfect, at least he thought it was. She often went back to visit the brothers she stayed with back in Asteraia. Every time he allowed her the space she needed to go and every time she came back to be with him in Spirane. They were always overjoyed to be together again and they had gotten closer. He held to his word though he only belonged to her. However he didn’t know that she didn’t belong to only him. She had yet to tell him about one of the brothers being her Mate. While he often was curious about these brothers he was confused on why she continued going back to them. He never questioned it though allowing her to move as she pleased it made her happy and he was certain that the trip was good for her itchy, wander prone paws. So he let her not worried and knowing she would always come back but today was different.

He had asked to go with he, it wasn’t that he worried for her it was just if she was so close to these brothers he thought maybe he should meet them. There was no harm in that. She had agreed though something in her eyes seemed worried and she was obviously troubled the whole way across the lands. Oddly silent and muted he itched to ask her what it was that bothered her so. Ragnarok could feel he writhing underneath her skin and he just wanted to comfort her but he was thinking for the first time since their meeting that maybe it wouldn’t help her, that it was him being here that bothered her so. But why?

He followed behind her, ever her shadow and orbiting moon , when suddenly she stopped. He paused behind her his bright blue eyes staring into her own and seeing the deep pleading behind them. A frown set on his maw then he didn’t know what bothered her so and thankfully he wasn’t left to ask. He watched her quiver he had no idea what she kept from him that made her so scared, they both shared so much of themselves that stormy night within his family’s old den so what terrifies her so now? His heart began to catch in his chest as she began her story something he didn’t know and didn’t even imagine was, well possible. They were so close so the thought there wasn’t anything there, she never mentioned it and if she had he , perhaps wouldn’t have been so forward so close to her. Or… would he have? It was complicated, he wished nothing more than to touch her and allow their forms to be curled up together. Nothing felt better than that warm feeling of having her with him. Plus she had to have had her reasons for keeping it form him for so long.

She explained the circumstances of their meeting. Much like their own, all on chance an nothing more. He understood the joy she meant for he had never felt it before until she had met her and his ears fell back as she said that she indeed had a mate. He was slightly ashamed of himself for pressing upon her then his words, he couldn’t imagine the confusion she must feel having been split in two ways. She said she would be there for him and he promised he would be there for her and that he would never stop her from doing whatever it was that made her happy even if right now his heart felt like it was being shattered into a million pieces leaving nothing but a cold void in his chest. This was for her happiness though, not his own that he collected himself by the end of her story closing his eyes for a moment before giving her a smile moving towards her to gently lick the tears away from her eyes allowing her a moment while he himself collected his own thoughts.

”I told you that night that I am only yours, my little light. This does not change that feeling that I have for you. I am just sorry that I have been complicating things between you and your mate. I am happy so long as you are and I will wait eons for you to make your decision. “ He fell silent, still the broken feeling in his chest remained but this was for her, not for him and he would not be so selfish as to take her for himself if her mate truly brought her joy. It answered so many questions and though perhaps it would take time he knew he would heal and find his place happily still as her Moon and Shadow.
