The Lost Islands

dreams feel REAL while we're in them

thinking of you...

...wherever you are
Grai had been spending his days getting the lay of the land. First was getting the girls settled, then exploring and exploring. There seemed to be a few horses hanging about, their scents dry and old, but nothing of substance. He was beginning to think that Kasabien had left the land longer than he thought he had. Hunting through all the lovely hiding spots and gathering areas had left him with nothing except the reminder that the hotter climate meant… snakes. No, he hadn’t seen a cobra, but a larch boa had definitely caught his attention some time before.

Strangely, he hadn’t caught whiff of Sirgun in this time. He certainly hunted for her. He believed Kasabien wouldn’t have offered to let the two meet if he hadn’t actually held her. But maybe he’d taken her with him when she had left? He couldn’t be sure. Perhaps he’d left his herd in the care of the neighbors? Soljor and Dogun had been good friends so Grai could only assume that it was a better idea to be close with your neighbors than enemies.

He also distantly remembered that the stallion of the Hills had been a friend of his father and offered to take them all in after Badr disappeared. They had stayed there a while before Vesti’s wandering hooves had gotten the best of them and they had disappeared into the desert.

A deep call disrupts Grai’s thoughts. He had been standing under a small waterfall attempting to cool off. His Tinuvel-grown coat most definitely causing a few issues. The heat of Atlantis would soon bring his brown to a shiny and thin layer of fur, but in-between then and now was a pain. He recognized the call though. Dogun it seemed had taken his invitation to heart. Grai was both excited and worried. He had offered to help Dogun reclaim Sirgun. It had been his intention to send the mare home to the Inlet soon as he found her.

Yet, he didn’t have her.

Dogun was a friend and he didn’t want to disappoint the man who had given him such a great chance. But, he could hide in the forests in fear of that emotion. Or he could be a man and face Dogun. He had honor after all.

Grai’s coat was still wet when he arrived on the beach and spotted the Pony King. He offered his own greeting and put a smile on his face.

“Dogun,” He called. “Welcome to the Ridge!”
