What is the required ‘word minimum’ of Lunar Children?

(excuse my table-less post, I'll get back into the html swing eventually. Also having read the rules completely now here is my sample of at least 200 words)

Dry, this winter was dry. Nothing really bothered her about winter besides the utter dryness or the cold, snappy wind against her nose and calloused paws. Noxa shielded her eyes by pulling her head sharply downward as the wind swept in again, a distasteful noise clenched in her throat like a glottal stop. Lord have mercy, get yourself together, girl. she muttered to herself, a croaky, somewhat unattractive voice finding its way out of her long snout, nasally tones flaring out quite vividly. The russet-brindled she-wolf continued her slow pace against the consistent breeze, cursing herself for leaving the shelter of the forest for the dead field in her way. As another strong gust of wind descended upon her, Noxa decided it would probably be best to retreat for the moment, spying in her peripheral vision a broken tree amidst a few large boulders that would make a decent temporary refuge. Picking up her pace, the two-toned wolf felt more energy than she had in days toward the prospect of a moment of sheltered warmth. When she reached the boulders she tucked herself within them, cramping all four feet together so that she might lean on the more inner rock for support as she rested. The moment of peace didn't last long however, as the rock shifted to reveal a small opening underground. Startled at first, Noxa quickly recovered when she realised a more secure place of rest was at hand, fitting herself through the opening at once.

The cavern, if you could call it that, was dark and damp, and although it had a tinge of cold moistness, Noxa welcomed the little bit of hydration she received just breathing in wet air. Filling her lungs with the soothing ventilation, she detected the earthy tones of freshly dug dirt, and hoped she hadn't stumbled in on a badger's home. Shaking her haunches in a reformed shiver, the wolf turned her eyes to a shallow puddle that seemed to have collected recently in a beam of light from the opening she had created only a few minutes ago. It had been a long time since she gazed into her own reflection, she she still wasn't totally self-aware, so when she looked now into the water she felt her lips tighten into a gaunt smile. Hello again, my friend. she said to the puddle, she knew the being in there wasn't sentient but it didn't stop her from feeling better to have a 'friend' along. Focusing on the features of the face in the water, the muted colours of her eyes seemed to flash, she always noticed that odd spot in those eyes, a blotch under the pupil of the...would it be her left or right? She wasn't very good with that either, north or south she would take any day, just follow the sun to reason, but left and right were simply confusing to her. The gruff voice spoke again So, what now..., this time a frown took its place on the small, narrow face. What now indeed, where was she going to? Noxa was young, 6 years of age, unmated (not that she wished to have children), and completely alone. She was surprised by the few perils that had attempted to thwart her wandering, she had expected much more from these mysterious lands. Or even worse, she had expected to be followed. Noxa didn't consider herself a very interesting mutt, but she knew that her previous home, or rather lack-of was more intriguing than the average wolf's. Stalking and stealing, scavenging instead of hunting, her family was well-known for many things but honor had not been one of them. Noxa blinked and turned away from the puddle, choosing to trot over to a more freshly-pulled plot of earth instead, lying on top of it, feeling the soft dampness beneath her ragged-looking physique. Thinking about her family and seeing that reflection in the water gave her a nasty feeling in her gut, she wished she hadn't thought of them at all.

Letting out a "whuff", she rested her head on her wide, dirty paws. She wasn't with them anymore, was she. She didn't have to participate in that sort of thing anymore, did she. It seemed hard to forget, to let go...but then again, that's why she came here.
