News 03.28.20

Get with me if you want to move up in rank. I'm going to change up the pack tasks for a little change of pace.

Congratulations to Adrian on her promotion to Governess. She will handle the guidance and teaching of our young pups in Iromar.

If you have a ^ next to your name, that means you're up for promotion so see me or send me a message on Discord so we can see where to move you. All others interested in specializing or getting a rank, let me know so we can figure out how to make that happen.

The pack board has been updated. If you wanted to remain a member, let me know either on here or Discord and I'll get you back on the board. Otherwise, let's have a thread!

I know I had a couple replies for the training with Spirane so I will be starting that thread soon. Stay tuned!

I am still working on an alliance with Diveen and Asteraia so stay tuned. If you have any information or would like to help, please let me know. If anyone has any ideas to promote activity within the pack, also, let me know. I am open for plots and such! Meanwhile, thank you all for your continued support of the pack.

It does seem to comfort him when I say that Lillith would be queen of hell by now. I believe every word of it and judging by the smirk on his face, I think he does too. I never did really know her but I heard many stories about her. She was brave in many ways and just as cruel in others but it only made her more like a Demon. Andras and her were the perfect pair, the couple to be admired for their strength and unity. As I step toward him, I note the instant coil of his muscles, the rippling of his hackles and I know that I'm treading on thin ice now but a part of me feels that this is more important than lying down low and being subserviant and faithful. I am loyal to him and Iromar and I do what my heart leads me to do, even if it means risking my own hide to say what I think. He is right to think that I have never felt the pull of an imprint bond. I do not know the ties that hold you there or the sanity that tends to break when one is taken from you. I do not understand the pain that he has gone through and who knows if I ever will? I just have to believe that she wouldn't want this for him.

I have heard stories that the male is the cursed one, the truly bound one in the imprint world. The female can sometimes feel more drawn to the male or she can ignore him altogether, it just depends. That sounds like a sad tale of loving someone who can never love you back in some instances. I don't think I'd want that. I do start to see the anger in his eyes and though I should recoil back and drop my guard, my pride runs deep and so does my stubbornness and so I remain holding my ground, feeling a sick sense of pride to know that he still has the sense to be righteously angry about something, anything. He may believe me narrow minded or just young and ignorant for telling him not to give up but I think he owes it to this pack to stay strong for them if not for himself. Yes, fate will come and it will take you willingly or not but that doesn't mean you lie down and wait for it. You make preparations but you don't give up until death comes knocking, not in my book. I know he is older but it's never stopped him from doing anything he set his mind to before. This is not physical defeat, only mental. His muscles are still strong and mighty, his coat still gleams and his eyes still get a spark of indignation. That means there is still life in his body and he's wasting it with this depression over someone who's not coming back.

Maybe I do have a heartless part of me but sometimes I think you need to drop the emotions and think with your head. I tend to do both at the same time and sometimes it gets me into trouble and other times it gets me exactly what I want. Like the goal of Stygian. I fight tooth, nail, claw, and heart for this position and so far it's gotten me step after step closer to the mark. If I am to be Iromar's Stygian though, if I am to be Andras' right hand, then I must tell him what my heart is saying and in this case, that's man up and be the king you crown yourself to be. He unsheathes his teeth and my skin does tingle at this but not in fear, no, in anticipation. My body always seems to sense when danger is at hand and I yearn for it, draw towards it instead of away. My body feels like it's coming to life when I see fangs revealed. Maybe it's twisted but hey, that's me. He snarls, drawing himself up straight and again I get a flicker of admiration in my eyes. There is the wolf I came to fight for. There is the king I came to serve. His snarls do not sway me but I make sure my body language is that of a follower, not a leader. My head is lower than his, my ears flicking back in respect. Every muscle in my body is coiled in restraint so I don't make myself look like a threat. But my eyes, my eyes betray me. They show only the fire of a warrior, the fire to do something when I see a problem that needs solving. And right now, that problem is Andras showing his weakness for the world to see.

When he reaches out, I do not try to dodge his fangs. Rather, I welcome them onto my muzzle, feeling his tips graze and scrape my bony mouth as he shakes in a domineering fashion. My neck stays soft and supple, allowing the quick movements. I do not cringe or flinch from the action, my eyes only burning into his with that same fire to help him. As he releases, I twitch my nose but that's it, letting my ears flick forward to hear his words. I listen carefully but my eyes only burn brighter. I cannot believe that Lillith would take her own life if something were to happen to him. I cannot believe that a demon's pride would fall so far because of an imprint bond. I do not doubt their love for each other. I do not doubt that he feels incomplete and hollow without her. I do not doubt the physical pain he must go through every day when he wakes up alone. But I cannot believe that she would accept defeat because she is no longer whole. I cannot believe that you lose all of yourself because you've lost half of your soul. I know a soul is important. I know love can ruin you. But without an imprint, I am strong. Can I truly believe that finding one and losing it would take that from me? Maybe it's my pride talking but I cannot think that I will be a hollow shell with no purpose without a second half.

I choose my words carefully, my voice soft and yet still determined as ever.

"That is all I ask, Andras, that you think of the pack when you feel weak. I know you must hurt and I know I can't possibly understand how much, but you are more than just her other half. You are Andras, king of Iromar, the king I intend to fight for, heart and soul. I need you strong if I am to do that. Death will come in it's own time. Please don't lay out the welcome mat, please."

The last word is almost a whisper, my eyes softening for the first time this conversation, almost a silent plea in my eyes.

"I need you, Andras. I'm not finished learning from you."

I finish listening to him, knowing that he is resigned to his fate. I need him accepting of it, not resigned to it. I wish there was something more I could do, something to make him see why I think the way I do but I know our experiences in life were both very different. Maybe some day I'll find an imprint and maybe I'll actually feel something the way Lillith did for him. Maybe we'll become a strong unified pair maybe then I'll understand this pain he carries around with him. But until then, I remain strong and whole as one entity, one heart, one soul. Perhaps I'll be alone and that's okay too. There's few wolves that I rely on now, few wolves that I trust, that I can honestly admit to needing in my life. Andras is one of those wolves. I know I can't have him forever. That would be greedy. But I at least need him as long as he'll be here on this ravaged earth. I need him as a mentor, as a counselor, maybe even as a friend. I know it would be easier if I could give him what Lillith took from him with her death but since that's not remotely possible, I must settle with letting him know that he still has purpose, that he still has a job to do. He is still needed.

PACK RANKS

Monarch
Pretty simple, Alpha of Iromar. Ultimate authority. What I say, goes.
Chief
The 'Co-Alpha'. He is her equal and has all the same authorities as she does. He is be respected and can take challenges and block steals.
Deputy
The Beta of Iromar. The most trusted wolf under the Alpha. Has all the same authorities of the Monarch in her absence. Second in command. Can block steals and take challenges.
Council
The advisor to the Monarch. One who's wisdom is often sought in matters of politics and war. Not necessarily an elder but someone the Monarch looks up to.
Trooper
The head warrior of Iromar. Shows the most skill in combat and has experience to back it up. Trains the soldiers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Stalker
The head hunter of Iromar. Shows the most skill in hunting and providing for the pack. Tasked with leading pack hunts and teaching the pups of the pack at designated times. Trains the hunters and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Medic
The head healer of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine. Tasked with checking on the Monarch/Deputy after a challenge and also keeping up with mothers around birthing time. Trains the healers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Envoy
The head diplomat in Iromar. Skilled in matters of politics and conversation. Intelligent and witty, this wolf keeps the pack together as one while reaching out to potential allies for support. Council is their direct supervisor. Trains the diplomats and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Governess
The guardian of offspring in Iromar. Skilled as a warrior and alert as a scout, this wolf is tasked with probably one of the most important jobs in Iromar, protecting the future of the pack and Moladian. They can watch the litter while the parents are off doing tasks, hunting, or just enjoying some quiet time. Can serve as guides for the pups, like having a full time guardian. Trains the teachers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Snoop
The head spy in Iromar. Skilled in maneuverability and blending in, this wolf must be a shadow when called upon. Tasked with finding out information about other packs or wolves when called upon, this wolf must be quick as well as witty, able to make anyone believe anything. Also serves as a thief when the need arises. Trains the spies and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Chronicler
The head story teller of Iromar. This wolf has done their research on all things Iromar and Moladian. They can give a good history lesson or spin a tale on demand when the younger minds call for distraction. Able to captivate an audience. May even help with speeches for the Monarch when necessary. No one to train but the pups or even adults of Iromar when they have questions or curiosity about the past. This wolf may even be called upon by the Council at times. Can block steals.
Soothsayer
The seer of Iromar. This is a special rank made specifically for a wolf with "the sight." Consider her an advisor/spy of sorts for the alpha and rest of the pack. She/he can gather intel from outside or supernatural forces. You don't have to believe in the magic of this ability for any wolf with this rank will be respected as a ranked member of the pack. Can block steals.
Warriors- Members of the Iromar army. Skilled in combat and overseen by the Trooper.
Hunters- Providers for Iromar. Skilled in scavenging and hunting.
Healers- Doctors of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine for those in need.
Diplomats- Extroverts of Iromar. Skilled in politics and overall conversation.
Spies- Scouts and thieves of Iromar. Skilled in blending in and masking themselves when called upon.
Teachers- Guardians of the youth of Iromar. Skilled in defense and culture. They shape the young minds of the future.
Children-The pups of Iromar. To be cherished as they are precious for the future of the land. Shape them and mold them into something we can all be proud of.
Members- Overall pack members of Iromar. Not specialized in a particular field yet but just as important to the population.
