The staircase to each goal was coved in slime. Her feet slipped from under her as she climbed, no matter how hard she tried to stay upright. Horses like her constantly tried to stand in her way, push her down, say that she could never do it. But that goal would be hers, the more they tried to push her down the more she wanted it. The ambition grew inside her, growling like a beast ready to kill. This mare who stood in her way, would only be the next to get pushed aside. She couldn’t wait.

The spite and annoyance was laced on the words spat at her. She tried hard not to chuckle. Words were pointless. Simple blabber that came in one ear and out the other. It held no meaning, it scored no mark in her skin.These words the buckskin spoke pure wasted breath. Desperate horses will say anything to get what they want, she knew that as best as anyone. She just was never desperate enough to ruin her composure, unlike this mare. So readily spitting poison at whomever she found a threat. good, i’ve gotten under her skin, it should be easy now she thought with sheer pleasure.

”tell me, if you were anything like me, do you not think i know all that already?” She spoke softly, her body language, her voice, all screaming do you really, really think i care what you think. Of course, she did not want to have a foal, but, if the need so called for it, and it gained her… then maybe she would let it happen.

Before she could speak anymore, a sly creature pulled from the shadows. Pain shot up from her wither and she flinched, stepping away from him. She forced herself not to laugh. She could tell this was the Maurauder the one she searched for. To be quite honest, any of the leads here would be fine for what she wanted. She merely just aimed high first before stooping lower if necessary. She would never do it of course, she only ever aimed high, and she always got what she wanted.

She hoped this mare, whoever she was, was angered further by the behaviour of this beast. ”I, am Eerika skær of the Northern Sea, 10 days hard travelling from here” she stated. She doubted this stallion listened nor cared. ”Perhaps you should keep your mares under control” she spoke softly feigning hurt, her eyes aimed at the other mare.
