Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

It goes without saying that the young predator is a little frustrated with how things were going at the moment, she was hungry and angry at the giant who was her ever growing shadow. It has mounted this time, bled into the back of her mind to gnaw at her consciousness and turn her into something of a ravenous beast. Sure, she is aware of her surroundings, but she does not truly see them for what they are, she knows only that the scent of prey is stronger here than it had been previously, that she wished to hunt in this veritable paradise. How then was she going to come about getting this meal to be a success, without getting jumped or cluing in the other? She had to be without her shadow. Every crossing where the water ran in a shallow stream, she crossed, every chance to double back and make him go in circles should he follow her scent, she took. This time he would not find her, or at least she wouldn't be alone.

In only a few short winter weeks, Jaidah has seen her appetite for wolf flesh wane, and the need for other types of meat began to take up in her diet. On her own, Jaidah hunts mice and small mammals, just to give herself some variety. Today, her crazy notions of meal time have settled on something she is a little more used to, something she can really challenge herself with.

The dancing gait of the wraith strikes silently against the earthen face of the landscape around her, and she makes her way to a secluded little alcove where she can hide, ready to ambush any passers by. It is not until later that all her patience and dedication are rewarded with the sight of one as white and bright as she is. Really, the only differences between her and the wolf before her are the eyes and the shade of nose, maybe height and weight, but no matter. She slides from the comfort of the shadows, keeping to her trademark silent paws, her eyes not once leaving the blistering white of the other female's coat. "Excuse me, I do not mean to interrupt, but...could you help me, I am so very lost." She ducks her head, watching the other girl look around with what could only be described as lost on her face as well. Jaidah made herself appear innocent, harmless.

After all, she is simply a wolf. She makes herself seem so non-threatening, so innocent, her light airy tones filling the air with a false sense of security, a master deception if ever one was fabricated. She would not be this hungry again, and she sure as hell won't let this one escape from her. It would be too much for the cannibal to lose another meal, she would find another giant to hunt with and teach him how to actually capture prey. It is difficult to outsmart a creature who is as intelligent as she is, but, maybe this time she can manage to throw the other girl off her game.
