The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Nakato
Hear the whispers of the gods

It was kind of surreal to finally be standing in the lands of her dreams. Nakato absorbed it all in and for a moment she was at peace. Then a nagging thought cracked through her tranquility and shattered the moment. Now what? She was here but what did she do now? This hadn’t thought this far for surely she couldn’t have truly known she would walk on Moladion soil. Did she join a pack? Maybe she should hunt something? Did the prey here taste any different? Well, standing here like some sort of lost puppy wasn’t going to help. With eager paws, Nakato took her first steps forward into her future.

The happy feelings came back for a short time as she made her way around the grotto. But the scent of something rotten and an oily voice made her stop and turn her nose up slightly. He was a pathetic looking creature, of that there could be no doubt. Everything about him screamed vermin and Nakato had to fight the urge to back away from him as he neared. His sneer made her fur stand on end and as he spoke she could see that the oil wasn’t just coating his fur. First impressions were key and so far, the new comer didn’t have a very good opinion of Moladion wolves. Maybe she was being too hard on him. After all, they had only just met. He could still be a good guy, right?

Clearing her throat, the dark wolfess bowed her head slightly and gave her stumpy tail a slight wag. ”Greetings. I am new to this land and can’t say I know my way around yet. My name is Nakato? Who are you? Do you know what part of Moladion this is? What can you tell me about this place?” It was clear she was excited about the area and wanted to know as much as she could, but she didn’t want to bombard him with all the questions she had. So she waited patiently for him to reply but also remained slightly weary of him. Light on her toes, Nakato was ready to bolt away should he think of doing anything… funny.
