She wasn’t lost without Iblis, but Delya missed him. There was something about him, something so paternal, something that she attached so easily to. The family, that was her family. They had become her family, and they made her happy. That was all she’d ever wanted, family. Tail wagging, eyes bright, her general self pulled together. That’s why she was happy. Having a family that gave a damn, having a family that knew how to do the whole family thing was. The Russian girl would never say a word against Alice, against her cousins and siblings, but… but things were different with them. Things had always been different with them. This… this was what a family should have been about.
Eyes on the horizon, she caught someone coming toward her. Delya made her way across the ground, stride absolutely devouring the ground before her. The man was coming closer, so she would close the gap. Head high, almost a prancing step, tail wagging. Tail wagging as always, loping, a stride that was brilliant and stretching and fantastic. She barks at the young man to let him know that she was coming closer, that she was going to meet him where he stood.
“What’s up, Vincent?” Delya had recognized him from afar, the grand master, the one that she was willing to fight for her rightful place at the top of the pack should their alphas had been somewhere el—right. Right she wasn’t going to fight with herself about that. Oops. No bitterness, no hard feelings, but the beta had rank over the creature. She wouldn’t let that get in the way of interaction, polite and social. If he needed help, it was her job to give him that. She would help Rhae take care of this pack, no matter what.
