Feist shivered violently beside Calypso, appreciating the other fem's closeness and unaware of Calypso's emotional turmoil. She had no intention of going anywhere - Calypso was her closest friend and constant companion, more than Fang had ever been and even more than her sister. Mushaboom had been so nervous and easily frightened, and from another litter of her mother's besides, and while the feeling between her and Calypso was not sisterly, she was still so close to her.
So the sudden growl from the ginger fem was surprising, and Feist winced slightly, involuntarily. Calypso was occasionally sarcastic, but the harshness with which she spit the words was a genuine shock. Feist acquiesced, curling a little into herself and shivering even as Calypso, confusingly, attempted to warm her. Her pale eyes closed briefly and she felt a tugging at her consciousness, a request from her overtired system to slip into sleep. Calypso's follow up, quiet and unsure, brought her back, blinking and huffing a burst of steam from her pink-and-brown nose. She was tired, suddenly, and scared, and so cold, but Calypso was there and she didn't mean what she'd said - and suddenly Feist realized how scared the ginger wolfess seemed.
Caly's small voice, the timid shake to it, the promise revealed - it was so much for Feist to process. The husky shifted, putting more of herself closer to Calypso, moved suddenly by the fierce desire to make that nervous little tone to her voice disappear into the cold air. "Calypso," she said softly, but sternly. "I'm h-here. I'm not g-going anywhere." Her voice was sure as Calypso's was uncertain, and she nuzzled close to the fem with her own promise delivered.
