It is with evident enthusiasm that the male waits for his Queen to offer forth the problem that plagues her mind, his eagerness perhaps….unusual and yet his mind thrives upon such things, waits with relish and delight to seize upon any sort of problem to puzzle over, tail given to wave ever so slightly in this anticipation as his attention resides wholly upon the silver-hued female before him- those strange black eyes held against the dark chocolate hue of her own as copper-tipped ears prick forward and the world itself very near ceases to exist as those tendrils of his mind fixate upon each and every word presented to him. That his words of congratulations may have been somewhat upon the realm of inappropriate remains unseen, his mind given to work entirely upon fact and logic, on science reason and an establishment of known outcomes as opposed to the vastly difficult to reason emotional side that so many seem to allow their thoughts and decisions to be ruled by. His mind simply does not function in this regard, is near incapable of being swayed by emotion, thoughts entirely based upon an acknowledgement of known facts and little else, unable to understand, much less decipher- the vast array of emotions that so seem to afflict others. Perhaps, to many- he is seen as cold, if not indifferent, his words often entirely blunt in their honesty and yet perhaps, more so, the male is simply not befit of a filter, incapable of doing anything other then delivering his perception of the truth- no matter the emotional blow it may bring, even despite the manner in which this often allows the boy to be perceived as arrogant or brash. He merely desires to help- as he has always done. After all, it is hardly his fault if others take offense at his efforts to better them and indeed in such a situation as the one presented, perhaps an answer, free of emotion is far superior to one weighed down with ‘feelings’.
The situation presented to him sees those black eyes remain upon his Queen with rapt attention, head tilting slightly in some evident manner of consideration at the words she offers, features contorted into a frown of sorts- though whether this is because he disapproves of the information he is offered or this is merely a reaction to the thoughts that turn rapidly within his mind remain to be seen, his Queen’s request for options seeming to prompt the gleaming glorious golden male into some manner of action. The situation presented in this moment is hardly a knew situation, the manner of mate, imprint, child and varying levels of attraction, affection, morals, law and that ultimate question of what is right is hardly a new one. In fact, Pan is entirely sure there are several examples within his mind that have surely been well documented, in fact- to a certain extent the situation posed before him is one given to represent his own previous dilemma to a certain extent.
“You have several options- of which I will outlay each in turn and you may then request further information on each one should you like to and if you desire I will offer you my recommendation for what I am assured is the most appropriate action.”
He paused momentarily, assuring his Queen had observed his words before the male proceeded to stand abruptly, beginning to pace back and forth before the Alphess the way a lawyer may well pace before a witness upon the stands with arms folded behind his back, paws beating an easy rhythm upon the earth.
“Option One is to observe the wishes of Natu and disregard Taliesin. If he has expressed his displeasure at having this Fenrir in the pack then you must consider whom you value more, your Spider or your Justiciar. If one must be lost, then whom do you prefer to retain, whom is more valuable to you? More so do you truly belive that if you allow Fenrir into our pack that Taliesin’s rank and place here is so disposable to him that he will truly just leave? If he was adult about it and capable of placing pack before self then he would accept what is and move on- it cannot be changed. My Father and Mother left myself and my siblings to our own devices, for a time I resented him for it and yet blood does not define me, nor does being able to claim my lineage to Indus. There are many bad fathers, Taliesin must merely accept what is. He is not defined by his sire and to allow his sire and their relationship to define him is futile and juvenile. If he cannot put pack before self he does not deserve his rank.”
“Option Two is to observe Taliesin and disregard Natu. How important is she to you as pack if she would consider leaving merely for the sake of a male? Children are born fatherless each year, hers will suffer no lack of love for a lack of Father and you will retain peace amongst your higher ranks by appeasing Taliesin. If Natu values family why did she chose to mate with a male whom clearly does not if he so willingly abandons his children? Perhaps allow Natu to make this mistake, allow her to see the truth Taliesin surely sees and when he leaves her- allow her to return. Yet once more you must question how much you value her in this regard, if Natu would abandon the safety of pack for herself and her children, merely for a male, then perhaps she too does not deserve her place here.”
“Option Three is to permit Fenrir to enter our borders to visit his offspring. This has proven on several occasions to work well for packs such as Diveen and yet the employment of strict guidelines is crucial to this understanding. If you do not desire him to join this pack and Natu does not desire to leave it then permit him to visit his children upon the borderline or within a designated area of the pack alone, appeasing Natu with her need for family and yet keeping Taliesin from having to interact with him, allowing him only in designated areas as was done within Diveen for children with Fathers from outside the pack. When the children are old enough- they may decide whom they wish to reside with.”
It is a flood of information, a wealth of it in fact, the male content to point out both the positives and flaws of all of his options allowing a moment for all such things to reside within the Queen’s mind.
“You must do what is right for pack- not what is right for your heart or for your emotions, they are fickle and will lead you to disaster. Decide which of your wolves you value the most and that will give you your answer, else speak to them both and ask what each desires and if you wish to lose neither then agree upon a place within the pack Fenrir may enter to spend time with his family, a place where he will neither see nor hear anything of import- a loner cannot be trusted with the knowledge of our packs workings. Taleisin is juvenile to allow the past to affect his future- I have not and my Father and Mother left all eighteen of my siblings to fend for themselves. I moved on. Yet Natu is foolish in her choices as well, this male has left children before, he will do it again and if she considers leaving the safety of pack to raise them then I question her intellect. If you do not desire Fenrir in this pack to keep the peace, then offer him a single place to meet his family as he desires, but permit him nothing else. It is middle ground, your borders not closed to him, but not open either. This has worked for other packs and it shows a level of respect for all parties- it is my recommendation unless you would have me come up with further solutions?”
