News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

BRAVE NEW WORLD

Though Orion could become a little annoyed with his soul's impatience and general irritability, he couldn't really fault her for it. He was sure that she was more than uncomfortable- mostly because she made her discomfort very known. Orion was no stranger to the fact that he was a rather large wolf, especially when compared to his mate. It certainly couldn't be easy carrying pups that were probably quite large. And really, he was a pushover when it came to his family. Truly there was nothing that the black wolf wouldn't do for the girl who had captured his heart and soul.

He gave a soft smile as Nevaeh took the goose from his maw. "You're welcome." the brute said with a slight wag of his tail, his peaceful visage faltering slightly as she answered his question. Orion was truly sorry for her discomfort, and watching her pace around all agitated like that wasn't easy for him. Unfortunately there wasn't much he could do, but the little things he could do to make it easier for her he performed with vigor. "I'm sorry, love, I-" the words caught in his throat as a scent crossed his nose. Oh. Oh no. Orion pulled his head out of the den with an apologetic and slightly scared look towards Nevaeh, his yellow gaze falling upon none other than his mate's father.

The wolf had no qualms with showing Heyel all the respect he deserved, and maybe even more. "Hello, Heyel." Orion greeted with a respectful dip of his broad head. He had gotten a little better in dealing with the old wolf, but he was still... fearful. Maybe without cause, but unfortunately Orion didn't possess that sharp wit that Nevaeh and her father had. Though he maintained a sense of humor, there were some things that flew right over his head. That's what you get for being too literal.

Orion looked past Heyel for a moment as he saw another approach, someone who was almost a spitting image of Nevaeh. Well, maybe it was the other way around. Before she even introduced herself, Orion knew who this must be. "Zen," he repeated with a cordial nod. "I'm Orion." Though she must know his name already, he figured that it would be polite to introduce himself properly. "It's nice to finally meet you."

His gaze did not linger on her for long though as Heyel began to rattle off some naming suggestions. Though Orion was not quite equipped to deal with the Angel brand of wit, he also wasn't an idiot. Of course he realized that Leyeh was simply Heyel backwards. It didn't sound... bad, Orion realized, but they had been talking of other names. He really hoped that Nevaeh didn't have second thoughts and really named one of their children Hayyel. Oh well, there could be worse things. He gave a quiet chuckle as Zen assured him of their humor, and he gave a polite if not slightly bewildered smile. "I gathered, but sometimes it's not so easy to tell." Again his smile faltered as Nevaeh complained of her pain, and Orion gave her a concerned look.

The concern turned to distress as Nev flinched in pain and quickly turned back towards the den. "Nevaeh?" Orion called, uncertain if she wanted him to follow her in or not. He was often kicked out of the den when she needed space or whatnot. Especially if she wasn't feeling good, Orion didn't want to intrude. She was... larger now and the den was not quite as spacious. However, as soon as she cried out all concerns about letting her have some space went out the window. He entered the den and hurried over to her, giving her a quick nuzzle and looking over her swollen body with unease. "Oh, oh, they're coming." he said in quiet panic, more of a conformation to himself really. In that moment he was rather unconcerned with much else save his mate and their approaching pups.

Orion watched as she pushed out the first pup, it was kind of disgusting actually, all the gross ick and blood that covered him. Such was the miracle of childbirth? He watched as Nevaeh cleaned him, their firstborn, a son. He was suddenly overtaken with emotion as the body of his son was revealed, his eyes traced over the dark red markings and white pelt. So he was truly an Angel then. He managed to take his eyes from his firstborn as Nevaeh named him. Orifel. It was a perfect name for a beautiful boy, and Orion gave a quiet nod of approval. Embarrassingly enough he was a little too choked up to respond.

The second time around it was not any less disgusting. As beautiful as his children were, Orion was a little put off by the way they were brought into the world. Immature maybe, but when they came out covered in blood and weird... stuff it was easy to be a little grossed out. But pride quickly overshadowed that feeling as the boy was cleaned, again with the white pelt- even Heyel's genes were powerful, it seemed. Nevaeh glanced to him and he realized that the name was his choice. Finding his voice somehow, Orion dubbed the boy. "And this one is Jaeger." Perhaps not Latin or Angelic, but it meant a lot to him. It meant 'hunter' just as his name did.

He watched again as the third puppy was born, mostly white again with shimmery silver hairs covering his back. Orion couldn't keep the grin off of his face as he watched his family come into the world. As gross as it might be. Orion's ears flicked forward as Nevaeh spoke his name, Hyrule. He was happy that there hadn't been a Hayyel or Leyeh or Nez yet.

For a moment he wondered if Nevaeh was done, but it appeared that her work wasn't over quite yet. Orion watched as the tiny girl entered the world and was lovingly cleaned by her mother, finally a girl and black too. With three brothers and such an overprotective father he wondered briefly if one day her mate would be terrified of her family. He hoped so. She was precious, a tiny little thing just like her mother. "Ninevah." Orion said, his yellow eyes a bit watery. It was one of the prettiest names they had come up with for a girl, or at least he thought so.

Orion figured that they were done now, as Nevaeh flopped back her bed, clearly exhausted. He bent down and gave her a loving lick on the cheek, chuckling softly. "Of course they are. I mean, look at their mom." he said, a smile tugging at his lips. "I'm so... happy." were the only words he could find to describe his feelings at the moment, somewhere between his previous anxiety and unadulterated joy. Nevaeh was right, they were perfect, and right then and there he promised to give them they best life he possibly could. Orifel, Jaeger, Hyrule, and Ninevah. He couldn't get the names out of his head.
