Spring. At long last the warmth of spring had finally come to Asteraia and the Father King couldn’t be happier. The first winter he had spent in his new home had been harsh, winter was not kind to the thin pelted wolf, but it had not been cruel. His belly had been pleasantly full and he had had a warm place to sleep at night with his beloved mate and queen. All in all, things were looking great for the aging wolf. Currently, he was resting under his favorite tree on top of the largest hill in the plains. From here he could see all and even though he was not active wandering his boarders, he was always watching out for danger. Today, it was the thick and heavy smell of the swamp that told him something was wrong. At once, the king was on guard and he turned around to see two small figures in the distance. Faster than his old bones should have allowed, Iblis was on his paws and darting to the boarders of his land as fast as possible.
Thoughts of the war, of his and Rhae’s imprisonment within the swamp lands came rushing to his mind as he neared the dark wolf. There was no doubt in his mind she was a demon. That black fur stained with blood, it marked her as one of them. Iblis skidded to a quick halt in-between Fallacy and the stranger. There didn’t seem to be any sort of aggression… yet. With teeth barred and his tail raised high to show his rank, Iblis glared at the demon. He didn’t take notice of her non-aggressive stance or that she hadn’t stepped foot in his land. The only thing the king chose to saw was a threat that he was most likely creating.
”What do you want here, demon?
He demanded with a growl, practically spitting out the word demon. Then he waited with hackles raised and tail held high for something, anything to happen. Rhae may be the current leader of Asteraia, but Iblis was still the king and he was determined to protect his family, all of them, from the blight of Iromar.
