News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

I am not entirely sure why Neveah seemed determined to have a den so far away from the place I had been sun-bathing, it was almost as if she gave no consideration into my favoured spots and how far they actually were from the place she had decided to store her children for the time being. I suppose it wasn’t all that bad, but at twenty three ‘not all that bad’ translates into ‘not all that good’ as well. Today however was thankfully warm, my limbs not given to protest entirely to much as I wandered across the pack land and towards the den my daughter and the black thing she was mated to lived. I don’t dislike Orion I suppose, I merely enjoy teasing at him- just because I can. He was however, not an entirely poor mate and yet it was his genetics I was content to judge him upon today as opposed to his personality. A nice male does not a father make, after all, we cannot all be blessed with perfect genetics, much less be capable of becoming legendary sires or dam’s. Granted my own children seem to be blessed with my genetic gift of fertility. Isola and Azrael especially having proven their skill in passing on their genetic gifts and yet almost all of my children have gone on to sire or birth their own broods with little to no imperfections- much as my own perfect and faultless record. I had been their for the birth of these children as I had watched over Neveah’s own birth so many years ago and indeed I was pleased to see a sizeable litter and none baring any noticeable weakness or deformity. After all, appearance is everything, if any faults exist and can at least be hidden- then power to it.

The sound of snarls and snaps and squeals that have so come to identify the presence of children see my aged ears prick forward once more, the barest hint of a grin moving to shadow my lips. I have come to enjoy that sound I suppose it….reminds me of that which I have seen and lived through, it reminds me of when Isola and Reyja and Aaliyah were born and played at my paws, it reminds me of all my children since and grandchildren and great grandchildren that followed. It is the very sign of life itself and I suppose I like it. The violet of my gaze moved to seek their forms, so much larger and grown since the day we had first met- a day I doubt any of them actually remember as I moved to stride towards them now, pausing atop a small rise to merely observe them a moment. The first and perhaps most noticeable of them was the shining silver and white boy- if only because he was mid-air in this moment, colliding with his sister as he fell, those red ears flicking like candle flames. This one I liked- if only because he reminded me of myself, a somewhat shiny version but I am hardly going to complain about that. His build is good, solid and yet not to heavy, tall but not as to be lanky and his colours are entirely becoming of him. Hyrule- is also a pleasing enough name, neither latin nor angelic and yet the inclusion of the letter ‘H’ the most superior of letters, along with the word rule is a pleasing thing, the boy assured to uphold his bloodline and perhaps Orion’s most noticeable success as a sire.

The next to attract my attention, if only because she stood out from her brothers and because she had been tossed to the ground was Nineveh. She looked so alike her Mother, with that same beautiful Neveah, Zen and Hyrule that she very near made my heart ache, as if I could squint or take a passing glance and believe entirely my Neveah had become a child again- rather then it was her children whom wrestled before me. It was the little girl whom brought an actual smile to my lips, black as she was and yet in the image of her grandmother and mother she was made and if one such as that can make themselves mate the Angel King I am assured there is little she cannot do. She is small and yet there is no true harm in that, small simply means fleet and in time she will outrun all her brothers. I allowed my gaze to trail then to the boy of white and black, chest adorned in a splash of red that was once known as a Shield, such wolves, in the days long past, made to be warriors, as if the Angels themselves had painted such a shield upon his chest so that he may guard what is his to guard and protect what is his to protect. I am not overly thrilled by the black of his back and yet there is far worse to be said of others, he is mostly white and marked in the russet of his blood and in truth I could ask for nothing more, such blood marks are rare these days, the boy special, I am assured, marked for a reason and yet perhaps I ill not live to see it. Even so, it will not be readily forgotten, even if his name is not entirely traditional either- Jaeger, what is that? I shook the thought away for now, eyes drifting to the eldest of Neveah children and perhaps a rightful first born.

To birth such a child, marked so darkly and so profoundly in snow and blood is nothing short of a privilege and yet that he should be born of Neveah and Orion is perhaps not surprising. The children of an imprint are always meant to be- that cannot be questioned, the gods having merely blessed them with three white sons and a dark daughter in the image of her maternal line. Orifel is the epitome of what our bloodline strikes to achieve, maybe the eyes are a little strange, as if he tried to be all the colours- but what Angel ever did settle for anything less then…everything? Jaeger is exceptional, Hyrule too- marked in perfection and having escaped the black of his older brother and yet as Mithos before him, Orifel is marked in the manner of legends. A child of myth and forgotten stories- a privilege to have birthed though for now I see no need to mention it, nor give Orion praise upon his father skills (most of it came from Neveah I am sure). Even little Nineveh, black though she is, was born in the footsteps of an assassin mother and a grandmother whom stole an Angel for herself and this is not to be laughed at. This is a good blood mix, a very good though for now I will keep such things to myself- lifting to my paws once more to stroll towards the group as they tussled, moving first to Jaeger, brushing loosely against him before reaching for Nineveh, seeking to lift her back to her paws by grasping her scruff.

“Do not worry, Baby Girl, in time you will outshine them all.”

It was merely a whisper to the girl alone before I moved to seat myself to the side of the group, eyes resting upon Hyrule and Orifel as they played, curious to see whom would win such a battle, those two perhaps the most…noticeable of the litter and of one…..I believe I have already seen the future. I have made kings and queens- just as I have felled them and in at least one of this litter I am assured of the future King- yet for now my thoughts are my own.

“Much as you weave a good tale Hyrule, I assure you it is not a Fluttering Demon, such creatures cannot breech our borders. It is a butterfly , they are neither good to eat, nor worth the chase so do not belittle your minds by actually attempting to do so. Now tell me, young ones, does your Mother know you are all out?”

My gaze moved to settle upon Jaeger, the boy seeming to possess a certain…honesty about him that I sought to use in this moment, one eye lifting, waiting for an answer.
