PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

ARKADIA

sometimes things don't come full circle

Mouse walks towards the two-toned mare. Arkadia’s auburn eyes flicker in interest. The wind whips across the stones, small critters scurry around in the thrush as the silence passes between them. Sincerity laces in Mouse’s words as she greets the priestess warmly. Arkadia shakes her mane, letting the tendrils settle back down on her neck as she shifts her weight, cocking her hip and visibly relaxing her stance.

Dark ears swivel forward with interest as the other mare speaks. The Peak was not so unlike Arkadia’s homelands. Well, not exactly. In her culture, there is a small sisterhood of priestesses who live on the outskirts of society and dedicate their lives to the Earth. Aside from that, the culture is normal equine life, nomadic herds, which includes stallions mingling here and there. Though those herds were also very matriarchal, which makes sense considering Mother Earth was honored above all others.

A flicker of amusement dances in her eyes “Well, I can’t say I hate that idea.” Chuckling she adds, “But don’t you have a lot of drama with just girls around?” A playful glance around shows no scuffles in the fallen snow, no evidence of female craze or vendettas. Perhaps men were the troublemakers on these Isles? Besides colts, Arkadia had not known many roudy men – excluding breeding season of course. “I was raised by a small group of mares too – though my birth mother lived with a band stallion.” Arkadia pauses, as if losing her train of though and turns back to the sweeping views. “What does a girl have to do to live here?”

The mountain definitely beats the loneliness of the barren aspens in the Falls.
