Spring was in full swing, the days were getting warmer and longer, and the lands were recovering from a hard winter. Viserys lounged outside of his den, front paws stretched out in front of him. He was enjoying the sun upon his pale fur, feeling rather at peace for the moment. These moments of peace had been far and few between as of late, and it was agitating. The boy tried his best to remain unaffected by the goings-on of the world, but it just wasn't that easy. He was beginning to see that physical attachments were the things that brought suffering into the world, and those that were disconnected from their own mortality must have it much easier- but it wasn't easy to let those attachments go.
He huffed quietly, unwilling to let his thoughts wander to those of a more depressing nature. He tried to think of the positive things instead. His mother was pregnant, as well as several other females in the pack. Viserys smiled softly as he thought of the new lives that would be born this spring. Now that was certainly something to be happy about. He was curious to see what his little siblings would be like. Would they follow in the path of the warrior like Isolde, or a hunter like Aurai, or a healer like himself? It was certainly an exciting prospect.
Though his mother wouldn't be due for a while yet, her puppies would not be the first he would see. His ears perked up as he saw the hulking black form of Haziel come into view and he tilted his head, wondering what they would be doing today. The question didn't go unanswered for long, though, and Viserys quickly got to his feet. "Of course." the boy said in his lilting tones, following after his teacher towards the den of the new mother.
It wasn't long before Vis smelled the scent of birth as well, his nose was not quite as strong as Haziel's but the scent was strong. There was no overpowering stench of blood so he assumed that the birth had gone well, coupled with the fact that there was no cry for help. He stopped a few feet behind Haziel as he paused at the mouth of the den, peering around the black wolf's form to try and see inside. Viserys couldn't help his curiosity.
His eyes widened slightly in surprise and slight anger as his teacher introduced him as 'Prince' Viserys. Though his tail gave an annoyed flick at the title, Viserys decided not to comment. He didn't want it to seem like he was above anyone else. The pale boy gave a reserved smile. He recognized the scent of the male as one of the four males that had made their homes in Asteraia, but he wasn't sure of his name. He waited to see whether or not their offer of help would be accepted, but secretly he hoped that he would be able to see the puppies.
