Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

and every demon wants his pound of flesh

She had taken to spending time in the crags on occasion, left to her own devices as her brother had adopted a tendency of disappearing for long stretches of time. He smelled of the mountains when he returned and the wolves he had met with there, but she never questioned it. Wandering was In their nature, and he always came back after all. Wintry nights like this she preferred sitting alone out of the rocks, staring at the billions of stars shining clearly in the night sky. The lack of moon’s light made them shine all the brighter, illuminating the snow-capped landscape around her. She curled up, thankful for the thickness of her fur on such nights and tucked her dark nose beneath her tail.

There she dozed, allowing the snow to cover her like a soft blanket, beginning to form a small hovel around her as it solidified and it allowed her heat to be radiated back to her body. It was an instinctual thing to form such a cocoon on these chilly nights. She had considered attempting to claim one of the caves that dotted the landscape most had been overrun with smaller mammals, some not so small however, attempting to hibernate through these harsher months and this was ultimately the safer option. Somewhere deep within that dream world she’s found herself lost in she hears the distant roar of a bear, shifting the dreamscape somewhat. Her ears, legs, and black lips all twitch in different patterns as she either runs or chases after something therein, she could never quite remember which.

The final roar pulls her more so from her dreams, her survival based nature kicking in to wake her, followed by an all too familiar voice. Sleepily she raises her head, her large ears swiveling endlessly to pinpoint exactly what was real and what she had left behind in her dreams when she hears that voice once more. Her two-toned eyes narrow, finding the star-kissed form of Zaphkiel flying over the snow toward her. Part of her wants to be angry with him for rousing her, but surprise wins out after his exclamation of exaggerated gallantry followed by a too close for comfort roar of a grizzly. He skids to a stop before her, an oddly proud smile on his face as she peers around him to spot the large, lumbering form of the grizzly gaining momentum toward them.

“I’m all for pushing yourself to new limits, but this is a little much,” she said flatly, ears straight out in slight disapproval but she couldn’t fault him too much. He was always full of surprises. “Regardless you’d better get your ass back in to gear.” She’s a bit blunt, but he should well and fully know that now. She steps forwarding, biting out at his dark ear best as she could at his height, a slight reprimand for disturbing her but no real harm intended before she bounds away in to the snow knowing he will follow. They could easily out distance the bear she knows, who will no doubt soon give up the chase and return to his slumber beneath the world until Spring comes and so she lopes with short strides, weaving back and forth.

As they distance themselves from the threat she focuses more on Zaphkiel and less on the bear who has shrunk in the distance. She positions herself to lope beside him beginning to enjoy the cold sting of the air on her face with the multitudes of stars watching above. For a moment a sly glint crosses her eyes and she slams her weight to the left and directly at him. With her stocky form low to the ground and his hopefully unpresuming nature he will be knocked to the ground and in to the thick snow drifts if he doesn’t move fast enough. She pulls up hard, a deep chuckle rumbling in her throat pleased with her own bit of justice. “That’s for waking me.”
