There was a lot to process beyond the light that previously had separated known from unknown, warmth and comfort to the chill and wide expanses of the world. Both Jackson and Bastille were overwhelmed with the vastness of it all. Above stretched a ceiling so much higher than the one in the den, the floor of this cave extending to the left and right with weird things much less soft that the furs which littered their floor. Jax sneezed at the thought of it all, why exactly one would want this over their wonderful den she would never understand, Bastille just wondered at the possibilities of what else could lay out there beyond this cave as well. All kinds of trouble she could get in to.

Still their instincts prevail and they cannot in good conscience sit and stare for too long. They are hardwired to play through almost all of their waking hours and it is with playful yips and furious wagging of tails they all fall in to the wonderful family rhythm. Facing his brother, Jax yips back intermingled with little ‘woo woo’ howls as he dances toward his brother avoiding his battering paws while his little mouth attempts to get a hold of his golden ears. Eventually he rears back on his short little white legs, forepaws splaying wide in the air hoping his brother would meet him there.

Around them their sisters race, Bastille fully uncomprehending of Embla’s great thoughtfulness about the world around them. Embla was always quieter than the rest of them she had noticed, last to be pulled in to the fray of playing, least likely to be causing a commotion, which is perhaps why Bastille can’t help but try and drag her in to trouble. As Embla runs trying to take in the scenery, her two-toned sister focuses only on the red patch at the end of rump, short awkward legs trying desperately to bring it in reach of her sharp teeth. Gathering her small form she finally makes a pounce at her, missing entirely and going tumbling head over paws into one of the bushes which guarded the area. Rising she shakes herself amongst the tangles of branches and leaves. Finally she looks around her, finding herself in an odd hollow part of the bush which is only now trying to regain its greenery with spring.
