Alice is alerted to the presence of her mate through the fog of sleep. Seamus wasn’t one for sneaking up on her, not like she would have particularly reacted if he had. Always the robust one, Alice didn’t really have much of an issue carrying pups. She’d done it before, she may do it again, and there was nothing that could shake that part of her. They’d always joked that it would take a lot more than mother nature to take her down… it was true. It was very true, and though the gypsy woman may be old she wasn’t going to be discounted for it.
He’s laying at the door, and Alice looks to her imprint. “Herschel—“ she noses the slightly smaller pup, the one with golden eyes that fade to pink on the outside. “and Halo.” the young man that will hopefully grow into his legs. There’s no concern in Alice’s voice, for she is simply tired. The process was long but… otherwise alright. “Nothing went wrong, they appear to be perfectly healthy, and here we are.” It’s a quiet debrief, Alice’s tone a simplicity of cut and dry. It was the way she’d always been—no use complaining about the fact it had hurt, just cowboy up and keep going.
Across Asteraia, Delya was moving easily with a two-week old ball of fluff hanging gently from her mouth. A pup, one that she was already trying to think up something to call, that had been abandoned. She was Delya’s now. She would go to Alice, because that’s what she knew how to do. Taking care of things meant bringing them to the matriarch and asking what the hell she should do. That made sense, at least in the mind of the Russian dancer. She came to the mouth of the den with a soft call in her throat, not wanting to have a repeat of the incident with Everlyse’s mate.
“Aunt Alice, can I come in?” Delya puts the mass of tawny fluff between her paws. “I found her, she was abandoned, I couldn’t just… just leaver her there.” The steward looks sheepishly between her aunt and Seamus, nose on her new adopted child.
“You may let her in, Seamus.” Alice looks to the man, unable to see the child just yet. There’s no frenzy, hardly any interest from the grey female. “This is Delya, my niece.” A soft introduction with a gentler than usual gaze from the clockwork angel. The taller girl is a bit sheepish as she looks to the older man with the pink eyes, shepherding her own pup between her feet should they be allowed in. She’s not used to strangers, that much is for sure.
