Sometimes fate throws you a curve ball and you have to be brave enough to catch it. Sometimes in the midst of not understanding the way the universe works it is working to align you to the right stars.
This is one of those moments for Ravenna. She looks upon Riopat and awaits whatever verdict she is about to receive, her stomach aching in her belly in knots and her heart fluttering in her chest. Is she sure? How could she know if she was sure? Yet with every word that Riopat says, each one driving her point home, Ravenna's will begins to solidify. Her eyes begin to narrow in a certain slant of determination and her head rises just so, not consciously, but an act that is a physical manifestation of the inward battle she has just fought and won.
"Yes. Yes, I am sure."
The words come out bravely, boldly, and she feels a thrill. It would take a lot of time, she knew that, but now was always a wonderful time to start. There is an eagerness inside of her, a barely leashed wildness that seems to spill over into her gray-green eyes at times and the way her ears cock to the side in consternation at things, and in the jagged movements that are feral and not so graceful. It is a hereditary trait from her father for he was a creature born of instincts and she was born of him and the sweet temper of Mistletoe. A bit of both - refined enough but still a jagged diamond in a patch of smooth ones.
She dips her maw to acknowledge that Riopat was waiting for another pupil and when Sciathan appears she eyes him curiously for a moment. He is polite, apologizing for his tardiness and she offers him a reserved but friendly smile at his greeting.
"I'm Ravenna," she answers before falling quiet. She was not one to mince words most normally nor was she one to be a huge conversationalist. And now that she had a goal in mind all that she could think was how ready she was to begin learning, for her mind to soak it all in and to find ways to practice her knowledge as much as possible.
