She knew what she had to do deep down in her heart she wanted, needed, to do this. There was no risk, save maybe heart break should her intuition be wrong about her feelings and Lu’s. Really though the signs were there, she was sure of it, though she had always thought she would be with her imprint Anselm was so mysterious and strange. The last time they had met he had seemed almost on edge with her own brother! It was strange and while she always knew her father was very protective of her mother she knew it wasn’t to the extent that he would even without justification look that way towards any siblings or family she may have had. No, he was a different type of wolf, and she even if she couldn’t put her paw on what type of different she knew it wasn’t the type that she wanted. Lucero was perfect in her eyes, kind and noble born of blood that wished to protect those under him rather than be held on backs of others. Blood might be spilled by his fangs but it wasn’t because he liked it, it was out of necessity.
It was that kinship that originally drew her to her Prince, and while she was sure some might say it was his title as such that made her like him so it wasn’t that either. Before Asteraia was even a pack, before his parents even took up the Throne of the Plains she had felt something, it had only became more firm in the years that followed since their original meeting down in the Grotto. As his mother approached with those kind teal eyes that he surely had gained from her, Zeltzin’s resolve was in place she was no longer nervous or afraid, she had no reason to be, not as those kind motherly eyes gazed down at her silence sitting between them but no tension sitting there. It was that look again, like she knew what she wanted, just like her father’s, maybe it came with becoming a parent and perhaps someday she would have that same all-knowing look in her own gaze when looking at those younger than her.
The girl dipped her head down respectfully as the female greeted her, by name no less which was slightly surprising. Though really should it have been? Zeltzin had talked about Lucero to her parents should she be surprised that maybe he had done the same thing? She looked up by the end of her greeting a warm smile that was so much like her own mother’s setting on her maw before replying, ”It is good to see you too, Lady Rhae.” be polite her father always said, and she certainly would never forget his or her mother’s teachings during her up bringing. Perhaps she had her mother’s fire, but her mother was also one of the most kind hearted creatures she knew and her father did always say she took more after her. Perhaps that was why she was picking her heart over soul, just as her mother had a few times before finally being with her father.
She was snapped back to relatiy though as the Queen moves forward touching her muzzle to hers, she wasn’t sure what to make of it to be honest, such a familiar movement that she had shared really with just her immediate family before now. Not that it wasn’t she didn’t like it was just something she only really had shared with family so, in a way did Rhae consider her family? She might have flushed under her pelt if it hadn’t been for the question that soon followed as she took her cream colored head away those teal eyes setting on her again.
”Well… no I come of my own accord, Lady Rhae.” She starts a little nervously, ”You see, I came because I wished to join Asteraia, if it’s alright.” She says looking at the ground shifting only slightly before realizing what she was doing and meeting the gaze of the queen again. She didn’t need to be nervous! It was just a lot of things were going to change… she knew it, but she didn’t need to be scared she needed to embrace it,
