At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

What do we say to the god of death? Not today.

The gray and white femme was temporarily distracted, something she didn’t think she would have been able to accomplish. The utter despair that had consumed her seemed like nothing, absolutely, nothing would have been able to stop it. Her thoughts and mind had been consumed by grief and depression, and for a while Nymeria thought that there was nothing in this world that would be able to change that. Her sister was gone. The last family she had, was gone. What was there to live for now? While Ny thought she had nothing to live for anymore, thought that she herself wanted to die now that Lady was gone, it was clear that there was still some fight in her, she just didn’t know it yet.

When the dark brute appeared before her, her instincts told her something was wrong, that he was not nice, that she should run. But the femme didn’t care. She ignored the insistent urge in her gut to just get out of there. Her yellow orbs were blank, not full of life and excitement and curiosity like they usually were. The happiness that she had so often found in life was gone, and she felt nothing now. When he questioned her, she snapped at him, hiding the pain that she felt. His vocals were in her audettes once more, telling her he was sorry for her pain and how hard it must be. But there was something off about him. While the words were nice, his tone was not, as if he was faking the whole thing. Her fur began to rise, a prickle of fear running through her, Fear cuts deeper than swords. Nymeria did her best not to let the brute see that he made her uncomfortable, but she didn’t feel the same spark and spunk she used to. She didn’t lash out like she normally would, didn’t tell this brute off for intruding on her like she would have before her sister had died. Now she was just a shell of what she used to be, a shell with no emotions and no caring for her well-being or safety.

The large brute grew closer to her, and as he approached her, finally, she lashed out at him, telling him how she was fine on her own. And Nymeria thought she meant it, even though she was still so young and helpless. Sure, she was tough compared to her sister, but compared to a fully grown adult male, she was no match and shouldn’t have wandered off on her own. Of course none of this occurred to the young ess, like usual she thought she could handle everything on her own. The brute continued to speak to her as he slowly grew closer and closer, “Of course you can take care of yourself—you seem like a competent wolf.” The titan was now close enough that she could see into his one black orb, and her instincts were now screaming at her, to run away as fast as she could. The brute spoke again, and his words confused her, “I was rather wondering, little miss, if you could take care of me.” Take care of him? What could he possibly mean by that? What was it that she could do for him that he could not do for himself? Before Ny could question him, the confusion clear on her features, he was lunging at her. The brute was too quick for the smaller, younger femme to even react to, and before she knew what was happening he had her by her scruff. Because of his size, it was easy for him to pick her up and move her at his will.

Finally the multi-hued ess’ instincts kicked in and her fight response reacted. She squirmed, trying to angle herself so she could reach any part of him, bite him, do something. Her paws scrambled to make a purchase on something, to try and slow down wherever it was the brute was trying to take her to. But even when her claws dug into the dirt the much larger brute was easily able to pull her along, to whatever fate he had in store for her. When Nymeria opened her maw to scream for help, she suddenly got a lungful of frigid water. The titan had pulled her into the stream and pulled her under, cutting off her oxygen. The femme kicked out, desperately trying to get air. A moment of relief and she came up coughing, but sucking in as much oxygen as she could. Before she even had a chance to catch her breath, she was back under the water. Ny had already been weak before the brute had found her, and she was quickly losing the little feeble strength that she had left. Her head surfaced again, but for an even briefer time than before. She was barely able to sputter out the water in her throat before she was dragged under again. She was no longer kicking or fighting, she had gone limp in the brute’s jaws. Her vision was starting to grow fuzzy and dark, and before she could attempt to drag in another breath of air, everything went black.

OOC: so I thought she would have been too depressed to put up any fight at all, but Nymeria had other plans apparently. Feel free to god-mode with them to make things easier if you’d like =) I’ll tell you if there’s something I really want you to change
