Re(5): Bradbury's house demolished?

It's a sad pattern you see repeated over and over. Take a tour of any major city and usually there will be a comment "That parking garage over there was the site of a magnificent...." In my town, there is a lovely Victorian home that a few decades ago was going to be destroyed to make way for a fast food restaurant!Luckily, a grassroots effort raised the money to move it to the grounds of the local museum so it was saved but that's the exception. Reading a book on the real history of Downton Abbey - Highclere is one of the few survivors. In the 1950s, there was a massive destruction of the centuries old grand homes and castles so most are gone and now, too late, are lamented. Incidentally, shooting Downton Abbey at Highclere is helping to pay its expenses so it can continue to survive.
