I would like to tell everyone thanks for the support in the programs I have managed over the past 20 years of softball tournaments and leagues, without you NONE of this would have been possible! At this time GSL has decided to go a different direction and I am no longer with GSL. I am not sure who the new Area Director is, but from what the Dayton Softball Commission says Scott Kuhen announced at the City of Dayton meeting that he will be in charge of both USSSA/GSL. As for running GSL events, I’m not sure if they have someone in place yet. I wish them both nothing but the best. Scott is a good ambassador for the game.

Art Van Atta park for softball in 2015 is no longer happening, unless someone takes over the contract. I have been told by the county that whoever takes over AVA will have to control beer drinking because there is to be no beer drinking at the park. I have heard that several people have put in for the contract. So, no leagues and tournaments as of today, but that could all change. I would contact Kettering Fields as a lot of good things are happening with the City!

I have decided to retire from running softball events and leagues, with the exception of Slugfest (Donnie Brewer will be in charge). I have had other opportunities, but want to just take a summer off and see what happens. It’s been long overdue and I look forward to spending time with my family.

A big thank you goes out to my family. I have put them on the back burner for many years in order to make others happy in the softball world. I will enjoy hanging out with my son Nick and spending some time with Tyler and Emmalai as his Airborne unit is moving to Ft. Campbell. To the one person that has let me be gone 7 days a week for the past 8 years, my wife. She is an amazing person and I will enjoy my time more than ever with her. It’s time to be normal.

Once again thanks to everyone, even the ones that hate me! LOL

See you on the Field!
