This is my Fate.
Haziel wasn’t sure if ‘looking forward’ to the company of the children was really the right word for how he felt when he visited. Enjoyed probably wasn’t right either, but maybe liked slightly was more along the right lines of how he felt. He liked some of the pups company more than others, mostly he just did his work and left, but it was a bit different from normal as he constantly tended to his patient that dwelled in the den. She was a right pain sometimes, but he was just as stubborn if not more so than she. Get up? Run? Hunt? Hah the words of someone who wishes to tear their innards out again and undo the work he had done. Or die. That was also an option for if she knowingly did it simply to make him angry he would stop treating her, thankfully it seemed that her mate had the right mind to not let her be foolish, if not only because Haziel said so.
The little girl would have stood out to anyone with that red fur, but the brute didn’t need to see her to know she was there as most would have. He could hear the impatient pacing, the beating of her tail on dirt and grass her panting and of course her own unique scent. He paused before her waiting for her to greet him, the routine greeting that didn’t leave him stepping on, or stumbling over the excited child. So he waited. Every time he encounters her he is happy that his face is up well out of reach so long as he is standing and likely would be for some years to come but feels the paws go up and all over his legs she still not even on her back legs not quite to his chest yet. She gives her greeting and he can’t help but tilt his muzzle downwards to ‘look’ at her while she speaks now happily settled between his legs so that he definitely cannot move forward without stepping on her at this point. Only once she is done with her energetic greeting does he try to reply setting the rabbit pelt bag to the side knowing this might be a few minutes before he can actually set onto his work. She was lucky she was her and he liked her and her infinite amount of sweetness and caring. He just hoped that wouldn’t get her in trouble someday.
”No, to all three. I didn’t notice that you missed me at all, and good I guess…” He said sounding about as enthusiastic as a dried sponge and his sarcasm, was as playful as he could get as well as obvious as possible, though he didn’t expect her to notice for some reason. This was only the greeting to the first part, but then he turns his attention to the flower again curious, though her answer about how it ‘looked’ like her mom made him give a snort of amusement. How amazing children were, their innocence their unknowing of the ways life worked. Perhaps that was why he liked her so much. She had no idea how he was blind and had no idea what that flower looked like or her mother. ”Well it certainly doesn’t smell like her. It’s much better.” He notes giving a single throaty chuckle before she continued on.
”It is called a dandelion. They look and smell different before they look like your mother. They are good for settling your stomach when they don’t look white and fluffy.” Haziel then thought about the white fluffy part, ”Make sure you are careful about what flowers you put in your mouth okay? Or I will tell your mommy, Dandelions are safe but some will make your stomach upset. You hear me?” Ever the serious wolf he supposed, but if Lyse wasn’t watching what she was apparently putting in her mouth who was to say she couldn’t find something dangerous. Haziel knew how many bad plants were out there and good ones and what parts were safe and what weren’t and some were even in asteraia. ”But thank you. I will.. keep it forever.” He says moving to try and grab the flower though not immediately finding it nose brusing the top fluffy part before finding the stem and moving it to the side with his bag. He didn’t notice right away that several of the seeds and flower part were now sticking to his nose.
