Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

MUTE - AMUTAQ & ZETERI - LEVI'S SOUL - OF TAVIORA

He wasn’t fully wrong about what he assumed about her. Her inability to speak generally wasn’t so quickly caught on by most. Many thought she was shy or rude when she didn’t reply verbally, something along those lines. Many of the pack knew she was mute and so left her to her own business. It was fine really it was, but with her family gone it made it hard to socialize with anyone. It wasn’t like she could go into the free lands and just have a conversation with someone. Not really, and going to Diveen she didn’t really get much of a reply from the family she knew was there. Much to her disappointment and sadness. She knew they were there… Her mom told her, but she guessed maybe the Angels of Diveen were just too good for her and her brothers. Levi was different in that he understood she was mute before she really tried to ‘say’ or act out anything. He wasn’t daunted by the idea of trying to communicate with her either.

She does not know that her happiness brings him happiness. All she knows is that she is so pleased that finally she had someone who might understand her. Every sound was escaped her. Her mom often feared for her being too far because she couldn’t even let out a yowl of pain if she got hurt. It was hard for all of them, Tuari thought, with Yoska’s deafness and her mutism. Imprinting might have helped him though, which she would not be upset about. Giving someone who just had an innate understanding of how she was and what she was experiencing was a blessing to her. Little did she know if he was in pain or trouble she would feel the innate pull to protect him, be his shield from pain and sorrow just as much as he wanted to be for her. She didn’t know his ultimate goals, of course they had only just met, but for sure would she feel his pain, as well as his drive to be an alpha someday and she would be by him all the way to help him reach that goal.

Of course she would help him get her name correctly. With her aid he managed it, thogh most didn’t even bother to try it felt like without having her parents, or someone else who knew her standing around her. It was amazing that he got it, she was so happy on his own power she learned her name with simply a few nods and shakes of her head. Graceful? Maybe not, he probably looked quite the silly fool saying all these syllables but he tried just for her. With him she was already feeling less of an outsider to the world of wolves who could speak. She and her brothers were so different but at least they had their quiet world together. So she had that at the very least, but they were family she shouldn’t have had to be outcased from them, the rest of the world was… understandable she supposed, but now Levi was here her connection between her little world and his own.

He seemed nervous about coming into the pack, but really he had nothing to fear. Coszcotl was one of very few who sort of understood her. She was told it was because he couldn’t speak English well for the first few years he was on Moladion, so he was fine playing charades with her. He understood better than most anyway, and he was so amicable about wolves coming into the pack that were not his own members she knew he had absolutely nothing to fear save him just showing up to say hello. She figured other packs were likely more strict than her own, he knew who came in and out and she had been told not to cross into the borders of Spirane just North of them probably because Coza’s behavior wasn’t the norm for most packs. She invited Levi though, he was now her guest and thus was permitted to be here. She encouraged him more stopping at her kill and turning around at her realization that he had likely come for some other reason. She was just a little unknown hunter in the grand scheme of things.

When he replied though her white tipped tail gave a few waves her golden ears perking up while her gold-green eyes brightening as he said he said he was just passing by in short. So fate was kind to them she guessed her own tail waving around a little faster. Tuari shook her head vigorously when he asked if she minded him hanging around. The black pelted teen was in fact thrilled to the very core they would have a chance to get to know one another better. She gave a little nod again grabbing that fawn that in all extensive purposes was nearly as large as the boy that she was now talking to. She was powerful to be sure, grabbing the back of the neck of the creature before slinging it around its limbs flying about before it flopped over her back so she could move maw unhampered while she trekked back to her families den.

”Come! Come!” she mouthed jerking her head towards the pack lands. She would show him around the forest lands that she called home and once she dropped off this fawn for her elusive brothers to eat they could maybe do a bit of exploring too! She led him deep within the borders, Glorall was an ally though she wasn’t fully aware that was where her new found partner was from. Eyes meeting his vibrant blue, she asked him, ”Where are you from, Levi?” Mouthing the words slowly and deliberately before focusing back on the path ahead. Thankfully there were several worn trails that were traveled often by the pack, though several roots still jutted over the trails. The den was closer to the outskirts thankfully from the time that her father was a loner and would visit ad her mother’s own border patrols in the past left her to den in this location. No scents though adorned the family den today. She wasn’t surprised, they were always out doing something, somewhere. Wandering paws ran in the family after all, she shouldn’t be surprised that her brothers may have inherited them.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
