aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

The dainty femme injured and in pain was terrified at her. It was not overly surprising, given her sudden rush into the scene. Hellene, for sure, had her faults, including her quickness to judge and anger, especially when her two pups were within the boundary of the terra. I... Hellene felt her soul drop... she was just like her some, Destan, terrified of the world surrounding them. ...tripped. That single world was sputtered out with a cough. Hellene's ambers glanced at the brute. What his role in all of this? How did he know of her? She was sure that she had never met him before... still, she should give him the benefit of a doubt. He had brought the femme to be healed, so perhaps he was kind. Perhaps he could be trusted. But Hellene was not one to rush to such conclusions. She was slow to trust and knew just how cruel and condemning the world could be. Hellene, I know we have not met before. I am Summer, alpha of Bright Moon. I have heard that you are a good healer and know that you have a reasonable alpha here and when I found Amalthea here injured in my pack I hoped that you would be able to help her. Can you examine her injured limb please? Myself and my pack will be in your and Aurora Borealis’ debt if you can help her. She nodded and opened her mouth, her uncouth words spilling forth before she had a chance to filter her words. "Of course I will help her! What do you think of me? That I covet my skill and withhold it from those I don't know? That I'm a jerk? That I would allow her to continue stumbling around in pain?!" Her voice raised and she rolled her eyes in obvious annoyance, scoffing. "As for any debt you may or may not incrue, you will have to discuss that with Kalgalath."

Her attention returned to the ess swiftly, a single aud swiveling toward her, her voice taking on a caring tone, a maternal quality she had developed upon adopting her two pups. "There, there, I will help you, dear one. You have no need to fear me, I will not hurt you." In her mind she thought that it would do Destan some good to meet this femme. To know that he was not the only one in the world to have such great fear. Yet even still this femme had managed to survive, and though she was clearly afraid, was able to go to others for help, and allow them to help her. That would be what she would ask for payment - for Amalthea to meet her son and show him that despite her fear it was possible to function. Her limbs moved slowly, carrying her form toward the ess in such a way that she hoped she would not speak her. Dipping her cranium, she spoke softly. "I am, as I expect he told you, Hellene. I will need to palpate your limb to assess it. It will hurt, but I will try to be gentle. Beforehand though, I will get you something to help with the pain. It may make you dizzy or a little nauseous. I will be back soon." By the way the femme's limb was hanging, she suspected that it was merely dislocated, but resetting it would be extremely pain...

Winter had killed most of the herbs that she would use, but Hellene had expected that and had planned ahead, drying a small stock of them and keeping them in her den where they could remain dry. Turning away from the pair, she loped into the depths of the terra, almost immediately hidden by the thick lanes of evergreens that grew in the land year round. Upon reaching her den, she grabbed some poppy gently by the stalk so as not to damage the seeds, grabbing more than she normally would, for it was less potent dry than it was when it was still green and alive. She returned swiftly, slowing as she approached them, gently laying the poppy before the femme. "You must chew on these. It is poppy - it will numb your pain." After waiting for her response, Hellene gently touched her nose to the opposing fae's body, feeling for the telltale signs of dislocation all the way leaning back ever so slightly in case the pain she caused would make her patient lash out of her out of instinct.... and sure enough there was the trochanter of the humerus, displaced from its normal position.

"Your shoulder is dislocated, dear one." She cooed, moving back slightly to look at the femme even though she seemed loath to meet Hellene's gaze. "I am going to replace it but it is going to hurt a lot. I will need you to lay down and remain still for me. I will do it as quickly as I can." The timberess waited for her to follow her command, and then gently put her paw over the displaced head of the humerus. "On the count of three. 1...2..." On "two", she leaned down heavily on the humerus, smiling grimly as she heard a "pop". Immediately she took her weight off of her and backed up.
