I push past the borders of Taviora, going out into the open. My skin shivers with anticipation. I haven't been out in the free lands since the last time I met with Calliel. I do miss my friend. I think I'll pay her a visit at Diveen, come to her since she has yet to seek me out. I just want to make sure she's okay. Ihaven't seen her in months. I'm really trying the tasks father has set down for me. First I had to steal a loner so I set out on the task, stalking a few loner wolves and trying to pick out the perfect one. I couldn't just settle for any loner; they had to be perfect. At first I was going to steal someone that would fit in with Taviora, someone that might take a liking to the pack and end up staying. But then I decided that if they wanted a pack, they would come to us. Stealing them is defiling enough without throwing in the mix that you really want them to want to stay. So then I turned to my next motivation...research. I need to study murderers. I need to learn more about them. I still plan on going to seek out Tobias, one way or another. I've caught wind of him in the free lands but I've yet to pinpoint him. I'm going to keep trying but in the meantime, I needed someone else to study. And then I decided on Zeus. He was perfect. He never killed anyone physically but he became a commander of a large army that tortured and killed numerous wolves. There's no set number on how many actually died but he's known as a murderer, even indirectly. He's also insane. He believes that he's a god. He believes that he created all the wolves in the world. And yet he believes he's completely sane. He would be perfect. So now I just wait on Zeus to show up in Taviora. Until then, I've got more tasks to complete. I don't think I'll just do one. To better myself, I think I'll seek out information about other packs as well. I have to go to Diveen anyway to see Calliel so I might as well make it a business trip as well. I pace outside the tree line by the swamp water, waiting to see who will show from Taviora. I hope there is at least one wolf who seeks to be a Tempest. Being a scout won't be so bad. At least I don't think so. I like learning how to be sneaky and fast and keep my ears open. There's all kinds of juicy stuff out there, just waiting to be heard by the right pair of ears.
