He had been keeping to himself for the past couple of weeks. Only interacting with others briefly, Viserys had spent much of his time in meditation and thought, trying to make sense of what he had witnessed in spring. Haziel had been busy dealing with the aftermath of the bear attack, especially Everlyse, who had aggravated her still-healing injuries from birth. Like his mentor, he was annoyed, but he could understand why she did it. Empathy. It was something that he was getting quite good at. He didn't mourn for the lost as their families did- after all, he wasn't very close to Neirin nor Ifrit- but he did mourn, in his own way, for the ones that were left behind. They were truly the unfortunate ones.
However, life went on, and Viserys couldn't be on his own forever. He still hadn't seen his sister, but the herbs and food that he put near her den were always missing when he returned the next time. The boy could only hope that she was faring well. Wolves seemed to be recovering from the mysterious sickness that had plagued the land, and Vis hoped that Aurai's recovery would follow.
Viserys was wandering with no real destination in mind, and soon found himself on the cliffside, teal gaze staring out over the wide expanse of blue. The world truly had beautiful places, and he thought that Asteraia was the most beautiful place out of all of them. He had visited Taviora, and while he appreciated the dizzying heights of the evergreens, nothing could replace the rolling hills and wide-open skies of his home. The boy couldn't see himself being happy anywhere else.
'Dare you to jump.' His tail gave a flick as he heard the words, and he turned towards the source of the remark. Two pups stood near the edge of the cliff, gazing out into the sea as he had been doing only a few moments prior. Viserys raised an eyebrow and figured that he might want to intervene, lest one of them actually jump into the ocean. There had been too much death already, and Viserys wasn't keen on having blood on his paws.
The slender boy wandered over, only a year their senior he still was a fair bit larger than them. He recognized the assailant as Arthfael, son of Natu and Fenrir, only because he had been present for his birth. And the other, Mugen, his younger brother, who he had never met, or at least not formally. But perhaps he could take this time to get to know him a little bit.
"That seems a tad drastic." Viserys remarked dryly, cream tail giving a small flick. "Dares usually don't result in the death of the other party." His words were teasing, though, and a soft smile remained upon his maw. He doubted either of the pups would recognize him, but there would be time for introduction after he was sure that no one was taking a leap of faith off the cliff.
