Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

KNEEL BEFORE THE KING

He had known they would be coming soon. The lagoon had eyes in many places and word had travelled fast that there was a colt in the Prairie; a future son on the lagoon. If Valentine stayed true to their deal, then the boy would arrive soon after he was weaned which meant it came as no surprise to the black stallion when a familiar voice ripped through the silence of his home. It would have been foolish to back out of the deal, after all, and face the prospect of lagoon soldiers coming to claim the colt or reclaim the mare. Ceolwulf had not thought Valentine foolish and he was soon proved right.

The general’s ears flicked at the call and his head rose from grazing in a nearby clearing. He began an easy trot toward where the call had come from, eager to see what the spotted male had brought the lagoon. His amber eyes fell on the trio of horses as he broke from the treeline into the clearing where Valentine and Shamwari had halted. It seemed a familiar young bachelor had already intercepted them prompting Ceolwulf’s ears to lean back and a snort to leave his nostrils.

As the black stallion reached them, he heard Fiero question the pair. ”Valentine is here on business.” Ceolwulf answered as he drew up, snaking his head out like lightning, to nip at the young, golden stallion’s rump as if to tell him to know his place and not get in the way. His golden eyes found Valentine, ”I trust the mare has been a welcome addition to your herd. This must be the boy” he said, his calculating gaze turning to the chestnut. He looked promising.
