Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

KNEEL BEFORE THE KING

Ceolwulf had been distracted by the little black mare, so much so that he had not noticed the golden colt coming for them. He had been aware of the scent - a scent that had lingered in the lagoon before- but he did not expect the boy, who he assumed to be fellow bachelor, to get involved. He was surprised then, when a bellow shattered the still air and a flash of gold and white materialised before him, his hoof connecting with its leg rather than that of the filly.

Ceolwulf snorted and drew his head back, his neck curving and his ears pinning in a display of dominance. His right hoof rose and then was forced back into the wet earth with forceful squelch. Mud splattered upwards, flecking over his dark legs and chest but he paid it no mind. His yellow eyes bore into the boy, deciding whether or not to attack him for his disobedience or let him explain himself. The colt stared back and for a moment they were locked in a silent stand off before the younger male finally spoke.

The black stallion watched the boy with a cold, hard stare. It transpired that he was not a brother of the lagoon but he offered to be. Willing and able bodied stallions were certainly of great worth to the lagoon but was the filly worth just this one defiant boy? What if they could gain two just as worth colts elsewhere by trading her? The general’s black tail flicked idly and his mind calculated the pros and cons of accepting the boy’s terms even while the palomino continued to clarify those terms. Then the boy said something that changed everything; his name.

Conquistador.

Ceolwulf had heard the name before and knew that he was the brother of Rade even before he was told. His ears leaned forward with interest at this new turn of events and the aggression that had oozed from his very being evaporated. Conquistador did not need to be taught lesson yet and he was worth a hundred expendable fillies. The black stallion snorted. ”Very well. The filly is free to go and will not be targeted again.”. The general’s calculating gaze shifted to Crow only for a moment while he spoke of her before returning to the palomino, ”Welcome to the lagoon, brother.”
