Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

“Dar oídos.” Her words thrums with energy, and carry clearly across the distance between herself and the stallions. Guadalupe is one who rarely says more than necessary, and when she speaks, she speaks to be heard. Whether or not the audience listens though is up to them. The dark lady is quick to determine the ones worth her time this way, the ones who are open-minded to some degree, the ones she can learn something from, and maybe teach something to in return.

She watches all three, intelligent eyes clear, alert. They are no longer closing in upon each other, but Guadalupe imagines the adrenaline, feels some of it herself. “Please,” she says again, her voice lilting as she continued. “I followed, yes, but I came alone, of my own accord. I came to see for myself.” She observes each one as they stand before her, and is puzzled by the exchanges between the two who are strangers. Her eyes linger longest on her spotted companion, but she makes no move towards him. The laws of this land had been made more or less clear by the golden male, and she would not presume that he wanted her to linger. She knows that she would be resentful if another encroached upon her space and her freedoms and stayed, so how could she do such a thing to another?

She makes no advance, but neither does she retreat. She merely shifts her weight, and exhales patience. There is no fear in the mare, not for herself, nor her growing child, for she is certain now that, though he knows little about her (and she about him), the large, spotted male will protect her. She is grateful, and if she is given a chance, she will express this to him later. For now, though, her gaze is drawn back to him, and she is compelled to give him something. And so the islands’ air is acquainted with her name for the first time. “I am Guadalupe.”

She turns her gaze to the stallion who wore his authority like a second skin. “The weather is changing and I have nowhere to go. Would you allow me shelter within your borders until the season turns and my child is born?” A pause allows him time to consider her words. “I will keep to myself, and will not venture where you do not wish me to. I will not stay longer than I am permitted, and when you say the word, I will take the foal and go.” The black mare glances at the youngest male for a moment, snorting and lifting her head just a little. Her eyes slide back to his older brother, and she speaks once more. “If you do not want me here, then I will go without a fight, I assure you. I will not, however, be considered a waste of time and effort. Not by anyone.”

(( Gahh, sorry it’s short, and not as good as I wanted it to be. I’ve got a lot of really stressful stuff going on though, so I hope I can be forgiven for keeping you waiting <3))
