Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

to say sorry, doesn't hurt as much as saying goodbye...

I watched the lightning ahead, feeling a nice smile drawing on my face. Storms are great. Something about them just makes me really relaxed. It is hard to explain, but watching them is… Well… Relaxing.

I was glad to return the friendly approach from the other wolf. He didn’t seem to be one wolf wanting any trouble, so I saw no problem being friendly to him. He replied and I nodded. The wolf approached and took a place by my side. It is always nicer to have someone to talk to, especially with such beautiful landscape before us. Of course, some preferred sunny days, but I am most inclined to watching the dark greyish days of rain.

He shared with me his opinion on the feeling the rain brought with it. He agreed with me, but said he saw it more as surreal. I nodded in agreement. He spoke the truth, for sure.

-…Yet. It can touch us.

I added with a kind smile. Not only the rain could touch and wet our fur, but the powerful thunder could touch our body. I’ve seen it touch trees from afar. Those had been reduced to nothing, but scrambles and burnt wood. I took the moment of silence to introduce myself, telling him my name and he told me his own. Nanuk. I looked back at him,

- It is nice to meet you too..

I watched the storm for a little bit more, before allowing my form to turn towards him.

- Are you from around here?...

I asked, kindly. I didn’t mean to invade his privacy or anything, but I saw it a nice way to start a conversation. He didn’t smell of pack and… For a long time I had been a loner myself, so I understand much of what he could have been through.
