► myling is a wisp of a thing in more ways than one. standing a slight 27 inches and weighing in at the featherweight class with 75 pounds, her build is petite and practically elfin, slender and willowy as she is. her legs are long and slim, more trained for sudden bursts of speed; her figure is sleek and tidy, with a hint to her step that speaks of femininity. she's a pale girl, faintly gray, the lightest patch of an overcast sky.

► a first encounter with myli and it seems as if you've met a ghost - quiet and shy, aloof and skittish as a doe, and fleet enough to match the description. polite and quiet as she may be, though, there's a bit of darkness to her that surprises. ladylike behavior can't always mask her personality, which in contrast to her demure mannerliness is subtly demanding. myling is used to getting what she wants from others, and will go to great lengths to achieve it, though never in a way that is particularly obvious. she knows herself well, and is highly capable of navigating the strange fields of her own thoughts and beliefs. similarly, she knows the ins and outs of basic courtesy, as taught by her parents; however, asked to consider the world from a perspective outside her own, to think of another's feelings as if they were hers, and all she can manage is a blank stare. somewhat manipulative and clever as she is fast, the small fem is something of a force to be reckoned with.

► the second in a litter of two both thought dead at birth, myling was slated for burial as a stillborn. as her father carried her to the burial ground, though, she finally stirred and whined as puppies will, blind and hungry and cold, much to the surprise of everyone. her pack, a superstitious lot by nature, believed the pup's original spirit had been lost and replaced by some older, possibly malevolent soul. her parents, still heartbroken over what they thought was a stillborn litter, would not allow for such talk to surround their only pup, and worked to quell such rumors. still, words will go only so far, and while the girl was treated fairly there was always a distance to the way the pack treated her, as if holding her at arm's length, cautious not to wake the ire of some old ghost. it's easy to see, then, where she might have trouble understanding the emotions or needs of others, kept apart as she was; she left her pack not long ago, at the birth of her parent's latest litter, sickened by the joy of the pack that she was never quite a part of.

She was alone now, truly alone. It had been so long since she'd seen her parents, her siblings; Strife's scent still ghosted around her at times, a joke, a reminder of what had been lost - what she may have let slip away. Her loneliness came and went in waves, sometimes screaming at her like a high wind, sometimes bearing down on her like a summer sun, sometimes gone - not there at all.

Her loneliness made her ever more a shadow, liquid black and slipping in and out of life and death, or so it felt. She didn't know if she was real. She went days without speaking or eating, but today was not one of the times she felt unreal. Her paws hit the earth solidly, and even the hollow shake in her bones did not convince her otherwise. The high, lonely sound of Anthem's song drew her from her reverie, her ink-black figure rising from its spot on the ground as she drew breath to reply. No... Sula sang no songs, but she would seek out the strange usurper brute and tell him she remained. She remained, and she would not depart. She had told him once this was her home, and he had marked her with the scent from his pelt, and her father's name was like a lost echo - taboo, taboo. She would not say it.

Her pale eyes sought Anthem, but settled on the newcomer instead, with a pang of indecision about her arrival. Could no one stay? It was all changing, always. Keeping downwind and out of sight, the inkblack fem made her way to the gathering, her slender frame hidden by the waving pale sea of grass. She didn't care if the other saw her, but letting Anthem know she had not left was a priority now, and when she was close enough to catch eyes with the brute she blinked slowly. He was not alone, and neither was she.
