femme - ten - draft mutt - 17.0 - color - alexander, lëja(x lyden) - of the forest

Alone. Months and months. She was going more than stir crazy. She had no one anymore. She had not seen Lyden since before the battle, since they had last spent their private time together. And now, she was without a home, overdue with their newest child, and had no one in the world. Even Alexander was missing, which made her miss her home in the forest even more. The large built lady felt as if she was as round as a hippo. Her sides felt like they would explode at any day, and she was so tired she found it difficult to do much more than walk around a little bit each day to find fresh grass, other than that, she found herself a spot near a stream, with enough shade and sun to keep herself feeling alright. The days had grown long, as the snow melted and the green grass sprouted up here and there, it finally felt like spring, but it didn’t make her heart leap with joy.

Today was a little different. It started out like any other, a long morning stretch followed by a quick dip in the nearby stream. It was then that the first pains radiated through her system. She was no stranger to labor pains, this being her third child she knew them well. She pulled herself out of the cool water, a sigh slipping from her lips as she made her way back to her area. She laid down, her head resting against her legs as she tried her best to let nature take its course and bring this little one into the world on its own accord.

It had to have been hours later by the time the little pale darling was beside her, and Aurelia was up, cleaning the girl off, studying the features that were almost identical to her brother, Alexander, except she was in a lighter hue than her brother, but they were almost perfectly the same. “Little miss Lëja, you could not be more perfect.” The large draft mare leaned her head against her daughters side, breathing in slowly as she leaned there for a moment. She sighed, thinking to herself that she didn’t know how she was going to do this, all alone still. She nudged the little one, cleaning her a little slower, carefully checking her over once more before she urged her to stand. Now that Lëja was drying a bit, she saw that Lëja’s rabicano markings were loud, in your face, and covered almost her whole barrel, almost up to her back. It would make her stand out against her brother even more in that aspect.

Lëja stood slowly on her long, gangly legs. Her knees knocked, and she found herself battling to keep her balance. Momma would reach out and press her big head against the pale girls fragile body, a little help in steadying her as she waited until Lëja took a step, then two, on her own. She turned her soft pale face up to look at her mother, a wide grin on her face, beaming from her accomplishment.
