DEAR TABBY ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS
Re(1): Tale of a tail

I think you have a playful kitty! Chasing one's tail is a fun activity frequently seen in dogs, but once in a while our cat buddies enjoy this form of play, too. Does your Kitty like toys? You might try her on a few different ones to see if she enjoys them. One of my housemates is a very stern, serious guy who never plays -- _except_ with a very small, fuzzy, pink ball. No catnip mice for him, no dragging string -- but bring on Mister PinkBall and he is good for a session of tossing the bit of fluff in the air, grabbing in, throwing it across the room, chasing it and generally giving himself a good workout.
Perhaps your kitty would enjoy something like that? I don't think this chasing of the tail is a pathology at all, especially if Kitty is a young cat. May you and Kitty have many happy, playful times together.
