Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

i'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies;

Life had been full of changes for wolf that had once had wings. Looking at herself in the reflection of water pools near their den often made her wonder if she was still that same wolf who had wandered far and wide across the world. In truth, she was not the same. Her entire view of the world had shifted with her Moon came crashing in to her life. (Well to be fair she crashed in to him… details.) She adored the life they had made together, rushing headlong in to the great possibilities of forever that love made possible. Their children were her pride and joy, watching them grow and learn warmed her heart like nothing else ever had, and despite the shadow of Neirin’s death that always seemed to play at the back of her mind her life was serene. For a time she had worried about adjusting to life in the mountainous back. Never before had she lived with others for an extended amount of time, but she had quickly formed bonds with many of the wolves and it was easy to think of them as her family now.

She was ecstatic when Ragnarok had suggested they take an afternoon for themselves. As must as she loved her little family they still tired her out rather quickly, and it would do her goo to have time alone with her love. Her strength was back in full after waning so far after their birth, her coat lush and shimmering in the warm sun as it rippled over her lithe frame. They had left the pups under the watchful eye of the pack sitters and quickly descended down the mountainside. She padded quietly beside her silver soulmate, pressing in to him occasionally as if she couldn’t go too long without touching him out of sheer amazement. After all this time her love for him still amazed her, as did his love for her.

As they slipped past the boarders of Spirane it was as if years slipped off of her back and her step took on a slightly springy quality, a smile splitting across her fox-like features and an all too familiar glint lighting up her aquamarine eyes. Finally he stops by the riverside, the waters shimmering with the afternoon light and she pulls up beside him. Her tails waves gently at her heels as he speaks, taking a moment to press her nose into the scruff of his neck before meeting his gaze. “It’s the best of days for such things!’ she exclaimed, stepping towards the water’s edge. She stepped slowly in to the cool water, letting it come up to her ankles and sighing at the relief and relaxation that instantly washed over her. Glancing back at her Moon she cast him a huge smile before bouncing forward, barking in her laughter before grabbing a mouthful of his scruff in play. “Well what are you waiting for?” she veritably sang as she danced back to the water, this time splashing full tilt in to the water.
