Zalika had thought herself safe, to be well concealed among the shadows. But never could she escape into the darkness away from those piercing golden eyes. Felony was the darkness, he thrived in such things and when Zali stepped into them most always his eyes followed her every move. The stallion had not approached her for several reasons, none being which she would agree too. Last he had spent with her; he had actually coaxed her to play. Something he would have never done before and still wasn’t sure as to why now. But that wasn’t his concern today. No, it wasn’t even Zali he was here for.


Felony stood amongst the trees that lined the other side of the water the filly played in. The shadows had consumed him, hiding him away from the gaze of a very protective mother. The brute had made sure to stay down wind, not wanting to be found until he allowed it. This gave him time to take in his daughter without judgmental eyes glaring at him as he decided the worth of his own offspring.


Once he had enough of hiding and silence, Felony stepped free of the shadows and into the opening along the shore. He knew his son stood beside Zali but he was of no concern to the stallion. His golden eyes watched the filly closely as he approached; everything was a test, it was always a test. “Don’t you think someone would like to drink without it being thick with mud, girl?” he said, his gruff voice nearly growling out at the filly. Felony’s ears were not pinned, but they were tilted back and his Lagoon haggard face stared at her like a wolf would its prey as he waited for her answer.
