Dear members and race directors:
Please note that our membership prices have increased and that a joint membership option with Athletics PEI is available. This gives you an opportunity to be ranked nationally and attend sanctioned provincial, Atlantic and National Championships.Membership forms are available at http://peiroadrunners.pbworks.com/f/RRMembershipForm15.pdf
A race sanctioning document has been developed and will be posted very soon on our website and the link emailed to all 2014 Race Directors. The document gives details on our three categories of races; Athletic Canada qualifying races, PEI RoadRuners Points Races, and PEI RoadRunners Fun Runs, and details how we will maintain strong races and carry through a policy that promotes safe, well organized, and fun races for all members and non-members of the PEI Roadrunners and the general public. Certain criteria must be met for each race category .
Race directors who wish to maintain their status as a Points Race will need to review the sanctioning document and confirm they will fulfill the Points Race criteria. Races wishing to be considered as a points race will need to apply to be a points race and will be considered based on their adherence to the sanctioning document. When submitting your information for your race please indicate if you wish to be a points race or to continue as a points race. Likewise, all non-Points Race runs will need to review the criteria and confirm they fulfill the minimum criteria required to be included as a Fun Run on the PEI RoadRunners schedule. Runs/races that do not meet our minimum criteria will not be included on our schedule or promoted to our mail list but may be advertized on our Message Board and/or PEI RoadRunners Facebook Page.
Please contact Mike Connolly at mconnolly@sportpei.pe.ca with any questions you have when the document is posted. We all want to have safe, fun, and well run events that support runners and raise important funds for charities on our Island. Replies: There have been no replies.
