IP: 76.243.37.193

The 35th Annual Worth/Dick's Sporting Goods/USSSA Memorial Tournament is an annual 7-game event hosted at multiple facilities in S.W. Ohio each Memorial Day weekend (May 23-24 in 2015) to remember and honor softballers who have passed on.

From the inception of this event in 1980 as the Tom Shade Memorial Tournament, this event has now honored 75 former softballers in all categories including team managers, players, umpires, directors, sponsors, and fans of the game.

This year's honorees include Dan Tuttle (Springfield); Kevin Tuttle (Springfield); Don Houseman (Springfield); Bryan Miller (Union); Gary Cole (Dayton); Len Wainscott (Loveland); Tony Haig (Middletown); Butch Kieninger (Xenia); Jack Haley (Wilmington); and Mark Wiseman (Sidney).

Ceremonies for family and friends will be held at specific tournament sites. Springfield’s Davey Moore Park hosts ceremonies for Dan Tuttle, Kevin Tuttle, and Don Houseman at 10am; Warren County’s Armco Park hosts ceremonies for Tony Haig, Len Wainscott, and Jack Haley at noon; Dayton’s Kettering Field hosts ceremonies for Bryan Miller, Gary Cole, and Butch Kieninger at 1:30pm; and Sidney’s Flanagan Park host ceremonies for Mark Wiseman at 3pm.

This year's Memorial Tournament, also referred to as "Softball's Toughest Test," will feature a 5-game round-robin on Saturday, May 23, followed by double elimination for all teams on Sunday, May 24. On a per game basis, the $325 entry fee is also “Softball’s Best Value.” Categories of play include both men's (D&E) and mixed couples/co-ed.

A large prize package is provided, which includes Worth bats and additional prizes for both round-robin winners and championship round participants.

Teams may enter at the park of their choice, or by requesting the official entry materials from: Scott.Kuhnen@usssa.com.

Please come celebrate with us the lives, contributions, or unexpected passing of some of Softball's Finest.
