The pups curl at her belly and she around them, sleeping for hours before her dark navy eyes finally opened at twilight. The little ones are sleeping, and Riopat seizes the moment to find her mate and relearn him. Their relationship has always been steadfast, but years of feeling inadequate and unwanted have taken their toll on her mind. Being abandoned by mother and pack at only a year old, then by her imprint at four, she had been on her own before coming to Glorall. She found Mortz once again, and loved him. When she comes outside, she is greeted by the sight of her russet warrior and his catch of the day. Moving slowly, she comes to lay by him. "You have outdone yourself, love." She says in a soft and quiet voice, not willing to wake children she knows cannot hear her anyway. Her body had wanted his all winter, and she has to fight sleep the moment he is close to her, she wanted nothing more than to lay by him and make sure the bandages stayed in place, the pups were fed and warm, and that everyone in the pack was happy as she was in this moment. Her eyes close as she leans against his side, her small frame allowing his to keep hers up without having to worry about him toppling over. It was perfection, and she could not ask for more, though they did have to talk about what happened over the winter. And she had to learn to keep her jealousy at bay. |
