News 08.08.2021
Change was long overdue in Spirane. Now that I have learned who is still an active presence within the pack, the ranks have been updated. As I once took time away from the pack, so too now shall Kalseru. Know that she is still second in command of the pack, as is reflected in her rank. Once you are familiar with the new ranking system, if you would like to change positions or move up in the ranks you need only ask. Let this be a time of new life in Spirane, and a promise of great things to come!

When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.

HUNTER AND PREY

When the mellifluous howl lifted on the midmorning air, Viserion looked up at his mother expectantly. The call didn’t ask for anyone in particular, just a member of Spirane, and clearly this was the call of a friend of the mountains. Blinking rapidly, his stunning golden eyes stared up at those of mahogany set in his mother’s face, silently pleading that she let him be the one to receive this wolf. Daenerys smiled down at him and gave the slightest nod of her head in approval, and then the boy was off, streaking through the lowlands where he and his mother were enjoying a stroll. His ears flicked back, and he huffed when he realized his mother was following him – although at a distance. He stopped once, glancing over his shoulder to look for her, but she was nowhere to be seen. When he resumed, he jogged along, keen ears listening both for his mother’s movement as well as trying to pick out where the call for company had originated from.

It was true that Daenerys stalked along behind him, but she kept her distance and remained hidden within the tree line as Viserion broached the territorial boundary. The Protector of the Realm remained downwind of her son as he advanced towards where he believed the stranger with the honeyed voice was. The boy did not recognize the female’s voice, then again he was hardly familiar with anyone beyond his home land – aside from Praetor of Glorall. He lifted his nose to the air as he made his way along, nostril flaring to take in her scent from a distance before he ever laid eyes upon her. Of course she was not of Spirane, but she also did not smell like Praetor had, of salt and sand. He couldn’t quite place his paw upon somehow dry aroma she exuded, but her perfume continued to grow stronger the further her ventured.

Finally she came into view, and her stark white pelt made her stand out against the luminous colors of autumn. Continuing forward, Viserion’s tail wagged in greeting, and his overall demeanor spoke of his youth and innocence. He did not, however, fold his ears back as he might to a pack member who was his elder. Even though her greeting had been welcoming and her stature seemed kindly, Viserion did not know her. Still, he approached her confidently enough, pools of molten gold observing the way she gazed up at the mountains in awe.

Hello there,” he said as he finally came to a halt, standing not five feet of to her right and slightly in front of her, remaining within the territory. His nostrils flared once more, trying to figure out by scent where she might be from. In his mind he quickly ran through the lessons his mother had taught him about the other packs of Moladion. Glorall of the sea – he already knew that scent. Asteraia was comprised of wide open grassland plains. Iromar to the south was swampy, and Taviora to the north was a beautiful forest. Then there was Diveen, an arid landscape of plateaus. He glanced down at her paws, noting a fleck of red dirt caught between her toes. Not to mention, Diveen was the kingdom of Angels, and she bore the trademark white fur and red markings of their family. Spirane and Diveen’s families were long standing friends. Looking back up to her face, his head cocked slightly to the side as it often did when he was mulling over something he had been taught. “You are from Diveen?” It was a question, in a sense, but deep down Viserion knew he’d put his knowledge to work and that he was right.
