It was about damn time they stopped breathing down his neck. Grayson had been waiting for this day, waiting for the time he could get out of sight of that cage called ‘home’ and explore the lands. His mom talked about some uproar dealing with a bear where others died and perhaps he didn’t understand the gravity of ‘death’ just yet but he sure as hell didn’t care. The little hellion of Asteraia didn’t care about rules, walls, boundaries, all of it was subjective to him. They were annoyances in the expansive world, pointless beyond belief. Why wall up in places? Why have ‘boundaries’ did not everything belong equally to everyone? Why have these silly rules anyone? Well screw their rules, screw Halcyon and his want to obey them, Grayson didn’t need rules, he didn’t need anyone or anything lodging him in place!
So today he was going to prove just that.
The cream colored boy came from the den marching across the lands going as fast as his paws could carry him away from that oppressive hole in the ground. ‘It’s not safe right now, Grayson’ ‘you’re too young Grayson’ well bollox to that and their silly little beliefs that he shouldn’t be allowed to go away from the den. He was sick of being around Hal and his goody two-shoes ness. He couldn’t stand him saying ‘Father says’ this or that anymore. He was so incredibly frustrating and he simply couldn’t stand to even look at his face for one more minute. Would Hal tell on him. Hell yes he would! They did anything to get one another into trouble but Hal was so infallible that usually Grayson lost these games.
He had seen more than most children his age already. He was born in some weird place, he was told this though he had no real strong recollection of that den in the mountains, but he did remember seeing the tall hills and strange rocks and many trees as he was carried back home in his mother’s maw. There was so much stuff out there that wasn’t hear. This land was boring. Nothing but grass and… more grass… and look more grass! Entirely boring and un exciting. He wandered towards the Cliffside area of the pack lands, finding himself staring over the wide expanse of land and the crashing waves feeling the sense of adventure take him even more. He had never seen this before, and have it everyone elses way he never would.
What’s out there? There is so much to explore, so much to do, but ‘boundaries’ didn’t let him do that. Well screw those boundaries. He was going to go where he wanted when he wanted. Some day.
