I only use cranks back in the channels in the spring for Saugeye w/a baitcaster, -for Bass add Spinnerbaits, Jigs, Pork-frogs & etc. --Saugeye Lures - "think Shad & you select your fav lure". Casting cranks are different than open water 'search Pullin' cranks before sUMps are located, then it's R-traps & drop the hammer in the open lake
About as close to a harness as you'll find in my boat would be a Mayfly/Weapon rig w/a UJ flystrip scented w/FF II shad in the jar before use attached to it's hook ~ that's after mid-June time-frame on the warm open lake for the Kid's I take out to catch Saugeye dinks under 17-18s, but they probably catch more WBs & Cats... (Cats & trebble-hooks give me nightmares for sure)
-enough typin' for nine-fingered Raybob ~ the old 'ex-Basser who doesn't use non-sport bait
(I do toss/flip some jigs from the bank when I walk out from home in the spring - that's if you know how to swim them to act like a shad)
