She growls at my touch but I hear the pleasure in it and I gain a little hope, my good ear pricking forward as I nuzzle into her fur, inhaling her sweet scent. She moves over for me and I move in beside her, still watching her eat the body with a curious sense of awe. When she looks my way, I read the silent question there and I glance down at the body. How can it possibly taste? True, I have had the meat in my mouth as I tore them apart but I never tried to swallow it. Does it taste differently than a deer or rabbit? If so, better or worse? So many questions but if it's good enough for her then it should be good enough for me. I just wonder where she got the idea. Is there more about Ani that I don't know? I thought I knew everything about her. Now I'm not so sure. The idea hurts. I ask for her forgiveness and she tells me that I was forgiven as I ran away from her.
