NOTHING IN THE WORLD IS HARDER THAN CONVINCING SOMEONE OF AN UNFAMILIAR TRUTH

It is a strong feeling of homecoming that she has with both of her parents before her. She feels soothed in a way that she had not known she needed, but most children didn't. They didn't realize just how much they loved and cherished their parents or vice versa until after they had flown the coop. Shiloh was not quite at the age of 'nesting' but one day she would be and Taviora had become the fixture in her life that she would forever fight for. But Diveen was still there, her home too, and family was here. Her brother would one day become the King of Diveen once Isola decided to take off the crown. Her bloodline flourished in this beautiful land and there would always be family here of a sort.

As her royal blue eyes now take in the pristine white of her mothers figure she notices the new scars that adorn her body, testament to her claim to Diveen. Shiloh had known she was fighting for Diveen - she had felt half guilty about not coming as a show of support but she hadn't been truly worried. In a child's mind nothing can ever happen to ones parents. Never. Yet she also had a deep seated faith in both Kane and Isola. Her mother was just, fair, and strong, a ruler many would be envious of, a ruler who could not be easily cowed.

Shiloh's tail whips back and forth frantically, so happy to be in their presence, and her eyes light up at the idea of Amoxtli coming to visit her family. She had promised to bring him to see Diveen some time. Would he be mad that she had visited without him? No, of course not, that was simply not in Amoxtli's nature. Her prince would let her tell him all the details when she returned and then she'd plan a trip for them both here.

Isola now speaks of Amoxtli and Shiloh grins wide at the praise from her mother of him being Moth's son. Moth would teach her some healing hopefully, and she had seemed very nice when they last met. Shiloh had felt like a bumbling fool around her in Amoxtli's presence, not wishing to embarrass herself with the flutters of her stomach but probably only furthering such embarrassment.

For a brief moment Shiloh is frozen as her brain processes the sudden leap from Moth to Amoxtli and puppies. Amo and puppies. Amo and puppies! Slowly her pupils radiate outward and her jaw opens up in alarm as a stunned look grows upon her lovely face. The flutter in her stomach at the idea has turned into a flock of birds beating at her ribcage. "MOM!" She shouts in return, the kind of shocked indignation a child uses to protest something supremely embarrassing from a family figure, and her ears fall back. If her cheeks could turn red they would be glowing coals

And that was the end of that conversation, effectively shutting up her talk of Amoxtli. For now. Because the idea of Amoxtli and puppies - puppies of tan, gold, and black - were running rampant through her brain.

The conversation turns more serious now, her ears flicking forth once more to catch Kane's words of her grandfather and Shiloh has a moment of thought, her maturity gaining on her. What must it be like for her father, for Devil was his father, and Shiloh could not imagine the pain if her dad did something like that - to puppies that she was NOT thinking about. Then Isola spoke and her eyes shifted to her mother once more. Shiloh held a morbid fascination with Devil after having seen him in that strange trance before, wanting to know more of such madness, of such sickness of the mind, and yet finding that she couldn't quite step into the darkness it would take to find out such things.

Isola is perceptive, as a mother should be, and Shiloh's ears turn backwards at the words as if they are some admonishment of her actions. "No, mom. I was only curious. I have been away for a while and well... he is my grandfather so I was only worried." Which was partly the reason, the other part being that she wanted to know if such a thing as his craziness was hereditary. Would Shiloh one day end up going on a rampage?

"I have met Brother Solaris in Taviora. He is going to teach me some history soon. Do you think if I asked Grandpa Heyel to teach me some fighting that he will?" In Taviora Shiloh had become confident and capable but she always desired to sharpen her skills. Yet once back home around family Shiloh felt a sense of measuring once more. Isola and Kane would never measure their children like that, but Shiloh measured herself and always she found herself wanting, less of a fighter than Calliel, less beautiful, less graceful than her other siblings, all a figment of her imagination.
