FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION RENEWS SPONSORSHIP OF SANDUSKY SPEEDWAY

Sandusky, OH, March 25th, 2015 – In auto racing, one must maintain relations with the outside automobile marketplace in order to achieve excellence. This relationship between racers and the mainstream automobile industry once again has proven itself true with the Sandusky Speedway’s announcement today that the American Automobile Association (AAA) located in Sandusky has renewed its sponsorship of the speedway.

The AAA, started in 1902, is a non-profit members-only organization that provides a wide range of services for the active driver. These services include roadside assistance and home, life, and auto insurance. The group also sanctioned such stellar races as the Indianapolis 500 for over thirty years until the mid-1950s when the United States Auto Club (USAC) was born.

“I am proud to announce that the American Automobile Association store located on Milan Road (US Route 250) has renewed its sponsorship once again for the 2015 racing season here at the Sandusky Speedway. I would like to thank Robin Amezquita (store manager) and her entire exceptional staff for their continued support of the Sandusky Speedway. In order to keep up our excellence, we require the support of people who share the same need to be excellent”, stated speedway owner Kevin Jaycox.

About Sandusky Speedway: Sandusky Speedway is a half mile lightly banked pavement racing oval located in Perkins Township, near Sandusky, Ohio (home of the world famous amusement park, Cedar Point). The Sandusky Speedway contested its first event on May 14th, 1950. The speedway runs four weekly divisions of racing, the modifieds, Ohio Stocks, Street Stocks, and Hobby Stocks in a schedule that runs from April through September with special events in October and January. Sandusky Speedway has held host to several racers that went on to national fame, such as 13-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and 1980 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year Tim Richmond and USAC/IndyCar veteran Todd Gibson and Daytona Beach Road Course veteran Joy Fair.
