News 03.28.20

Get with me if you want to move up in rank. I'm going to change up the pack tasks for a little change of pace.

Congratulations to Adrian on her promotion to Governess. She will handle the guidance and teaching of our young pups in Iromar.

If you have a ^ next to your name, that means you're up for promotion so see me or send me a message on Discord so we can see where to move you. All others interested in specializing or getting a rank, let me know so we can figure out how to make that happen.

The pack board has been updated. If you wanted to remain a member, let me know either on here or Discord and I'll get you back on the board. Otherwise, let's have a thread!

I know I had a couple replies for the training with Spirane so I will be starting that thread soon. Stay tuned!

I am still working on an alliance with Diveen and Asteraia so stay tuned. If you have any information or would like to help, please let me know. If anyone has any ideas to promote activity within the pack, also, let me know. I am open for plots and such! Meanwhile, thank you all for your continued support of the pack.

Denali
And I don't really care if nobody else believes,
'Cause i've still got a lot of fight left in me
It had all happened so quickly. One minute I was in my den, relaxing my injured leg after a long day of walking and getting out my excess energy from being cramped in a den all the time healing, and the next minute I was in the dirt, covered in blood. Astaroth had been out hunting to try and help me recover, though I was pretty well recovered other than my leg, which needed a considerable amount of time to heal from its break but was almost fully recovered. So when I heard heavy footsteps coming across the water, I assumed it was Astaroth returning from hunting, but to my horror it was that last wolf I wanted to see again: Kaius.

I snarl at him the second I come out and see him, knowing I can't retreat into the den for safety or run into the surrounding water full of hungry alligators. Before I can call out for help, he is on me, using his larger mass to send me to the ground with little effort, and then jumping on top of me.I could only let out a yelp before his teeth sink into my throat and he squeezes the breathe from me. The only thing I can do is desperately claw and bite at him to try and get him off as my lung scream for air. I couldn't die, I had to fight. I wasn't going to leave Astaroth anytime soon.

A familiar war cry rips through the snarls of my brother's snarls, and in a second Aithne is ramming her form into him to try and knock him off of me. But he barely budges or even acknowledges her until an even more fierce, familiar snarl rings in me ears; I don't even have to look to know that it is Astaroth, come to fight off my brother. Where Aithne had failed, Astaroth suceeded, his much larger bulk able to send my brother flying, his grip on my neck loosening enough for me to slip free and kick his face away from me.

I gasp, desperately taking in the air that had been kept from me for too long. My sides heaved as I laid on the ground, unable to rise because my strength had gone. Thankfully Astaroth was there to scoop me up and drag me away from the fight so I could regain my strength. But for now I could only look on from beneath Astaroth's protective form. It was truly humiliating to be attacked again and almost killed again. It made me feel weak and worthless, like others would always have to come protect me or I would always have to run.

My silver eyes watch with interest as Kaius clashes with Aithne, both dealing blows to one another like the warriors they were. And then Aithne gets ahold of his jaw and I can hear the pop signifying its dislocation. It is an awful sound, but also one that fills me with immense satisfaction. With a lame jaw he can't fight properly and Aithne will take over, seeing as Astaroth was still guarding me with a ferocity. But Kaius is no novice, he still manages to kick my queen off of him and his attention focuses in on me and Astaroth.

Normally, fear might fill my gut at this moment, but instead there is anger and a desire to stand and fight. I shift slightly beneath Astaroth, meeting my brothers gaze with a fiery one of my own. He was insane and if these two couldn't kill him then I would see to it that I myself killed him, or died trying. Unfortunately, I couldn't stand, if I tried Astaroth would shove me back down to the ground. I was left to watch as my brother charged at me and my soul.

He does not make it far before Aithne is on his heels, slamming into his flank and causing him to lose his balance. It is enough to give Astaroth the upper hand as he meets Kaius head to head, quite literally. It happens to fast, a short struggle and then Astaroth has Kaius by the throat. Kaius struggled, trying to free himself from the death grip of the demon, but with Aithne chewing on his flank and Astaroth chewing deeper into his throat, escape was impossible.

And then Astaroth hit an artery. Blood poured from Kaius's throat, down Astaroth's chest, and all over my head and face. It ran down to my throat and mixed with my blood from the wounds he had inflicted earlier. I had to shut my eyes so it did not run into my eyes. When it was safe to open them, I looked up straight into the death glare of my brother. I defiantly stared back into this staring contest that he would lose as the life left his eyes and I was left looking into empty silver pools.

It was quiet for a moment, and I couldn't move as my mind worked hard to register everything that had happened, was happening, and was going to happen. I quickly slipped out from beneath Astaroth, looking like quite the sight from the amount of blood that coated me. I just stared at my brother's lifeless corpse as it dangled from Astaroth's jaws, and it finally hit me that it was over: all the years of torture and fear and pain. Yet instead of being happy I snarled in frustration, tears welling up in my eyes at how weak I had been all this time and even now. I could almost hear his voice in my head still calling me pathetic.

I took a few breathes to calm myself down, but I couldn't stop myself from looking at my brother with so much hatred. I was just so overwhelmed with so many emotions that I had no idea how to cope and could only think to do one think: bury my face into Astaroth for comfort. I could only inhale his scent, letting it fill my lungs and calm my frazzled emotions. "Thank you, Astaroth and Aithne......you have freed me from the chain that was my brother......"

I looked up from Astaroth's fur to look at my queen, but I continued to keep my form pressed close to my love for support. I eyed the wound on Aithne's face and winced in guilt. "He was my burden to deal with and instead I brought it upon you guys as well," I say, unable to find the words to apologize for the trouble I have caused them. I was still so very angry at myself.......

I would have to become stronger, fight harder. I wouldn't give up now.

PACK RANKS

Monarch
Pretty simple, Alpha of Iromar. Ultimate authority. What I say, goes.
Chief
The 'Co-Alpha'. He is her equal and has all the same authorities as she does. He is be respected and can take challenges and block steals.
Deputy
The Beta of Iromar. The most trusted wolf under the Alpha. Has all the same authorities of the Monarch in her absence. Second in command. Can block steals and take challenges.
Council
The advisor to the Monarch. One who's wisdom is often sought in matters of politics and war. Not necessarily an elder but someone the Monarch looks up to.
Trooper
The head warrior of Iromar. Shows the most skill in combat and has experience to back it up. Trains the soldiers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Stalker
The head hunter of Iromar. Shows the most skill in hunting and providing for the pack. Tasked with leading pack hunts and teaching the pups of the pack at designated times. Trains the hunters and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Medic
The head healer of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine. Tasked with checking on the Monarch/Deputy after a challenge and also keeping up with mothers around birthing time. Trains the healers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Envoy
The head diplomat in Iromar. Skilled in matters of politics and conversation. Intelligent and witty, this wolf keeps the pack together as one while reaching out to potential allies for support. Council is their direct supervisor. Trains the diplomats and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Governess
The guardian of offspring in Iromar. Skilled as a warrior and alert as a scout, this wolf is tasked with probably one of the most important jobs in Iromar, protecting the future of the pack and Moladian. They can watch the litter while the parents are off doing tasks, hunting, or just enjoying some quiet time. Can serve as guides for the pups, like having a full time guardian. Trains the teachers and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Snoop
The head spy in Iromar. Skilled in maneuverability and blending in, this wolf must be a shadow when called upon. Tasked with finding out information about other packs or wolves when called upon, this wolf must be quick as well as witty, able to make anyone believe anything. Also serves as a thief when the need arises. Trains the spies and serves as their direct supervisor. Can block steals.
Chronicler
The head story teller of Iromar. This wolf has done their research on all things Iromar and Moladian. They can give a good history lesson or spin a tale on demand when the younger minds call for distraction. Able to captivate an audience. May even help with speeches for the Monarch when necessary. No one to train but the pups or even adults of Iromar when they have questions or curiosity about the past. This wolf may even be called upon by the Council at times. Can block steals.
Soothsayer
The seer of Iromar. This is a special rank made specifically for a wolf with "the sight." Consider her an advisor/spy of sorts for the alpha and rest of the pack. She/he can gather intel from outside or supernatural forces. You don't have to believe in the magic of this ability for any wolf with this rank will be respected as a ranked member of the pack. Can block steals.
Warriors- Members of the Iromar army. Skilled in combat and overseen by the Trooper.
Hunters- Providers for Iromar. Skilled in scavenging and hunting.
Healers- Doctors of Iromar. Skilled in herbs and emergency medicine for those in need.
Diplomats- Extroverts of Iromar. Skilled in politics and overall conversation.

Teachers- Guardians of the youth of Iromar. Skilled in defense and culture. They shape the young minds of the future.
Children-The pups of Iromar. To be cherished as they are precious for the future of the land. Shape them and mold them into something we can all be proud of.
Members- Overall pack members of Iromar. Not specialized in a particular field yet but just as important to the population.
