They were already quiet deep enough in conversation already on the matters of the pack and how it might be fitting or not fitting to the female at the borders. Iscariot tucked away all the information he had gathered for later, but the real bit was when he was more included, when he could find out some answers to his own questions posed to the new alpha. He has to wonder what kind of wolf that she is and how she will lead. If this is a place that will hold strong or not. Iscariot is curious, yes. He wonders about the ins and outs of pack life for each pack and if it would work for him. He does not want a weak pack.
Riot would not allow himself to stick within a pack that felt as if it would all tumble down with the wrong move or words. He held no real alignment when it came to good or evil, the petty ideas of angels and demons. That wasn't for him; he didn't care. Those things were shallow ideals to hold those who couldn't go it alone without the titles together. Riot could rise above all that. He doesn't need to believe in something that had so little sense to it. He was not good nor evil; he was Iscariot and he would survive. He would get where he wanted to go or die trying. Simple as that.
The female at the borders had given him room upon his arrival to the small group, and he dipped his head again to her to show that he appreciated the space. Sure, it could be the discomfort of Winter's threat that made her move that way with him around, but Riot's mind was far from such things. He wanted to be someone, make something of himself before he let his mind wander to extending his bloodline. He wanted his children to have the best chances of survival and would accept no less. That took time and careful selection. It would not happen this Winter. He had no time for that.
With the female adding to his words, he glanced at her before looking back at the alpha. He noted the way the alpha had moved and why, and had to hold back a smile. It was a good thing to be prepared, so she had that going for her. However, the answer that she gave was not satisfactory to him. "If I did not wish to know the answer, I would not have asked." He pointed out, trying to keep the disdain from his voice. She had to be one of those that clung too tightly to some kind of sense of alignment, and Riot wasn't sure he had time for that nonsense. A pity, though.
