Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

LEVI
i will be your wings
There is a short, awkward silence that befalls our little group as Tuari arrives. It is uncomfortable and I am given to break it quickly before it can fester any longer between us. I can sense Tuari's discomfort and worry about the whole situation as she tries to understand why I have come without proper explanation. I can understand how her mind might jump to bad conclusions, especially with the unexpected arrival of my father, which I could offer no explanation for other than his nosiness. I reassure her with a small, rare smile that allows her to move closer like I can feel she wants to, her tailing waving a few times. I quickly introduce the two of them, so they are no longer strangers and some more of her unease can melt away.

I watch as she nods in greeting to him, knowing that she can not speak to him, and wondering if he will figure it out on his own; probably not, he seemed to hung up on the word imprint as it flowed from my lips. You should have brought her back to Glorall with you earlier," he says sternly, like I should force her to come with me and leave her home. "It would have been safer, then anyways," he says looking back at her. Her eyes immediately narrow at this notion, her hair going on end and a snort coming from her direction. My fur prickles in agitation as I shoot a glare to my father. "She's fully capable of taking care of herself without me," I say, my chest puffing out almost proudly at this fact. My eyes turned back to her and I continued to talk, not willing to continue that discussion with my father any time soon.

I watch her intently as I mention my desires for the future, my ambitions. As expected, surprise crosses her face as she finally understands my reason for being here so expectantly. It took her a moment, but then she gave me a firm nod of her head and a reassuring smile, and I knew that she was going to support me through the tough times and trails ahead. It filled me with.....a strange happiness knowing that she would always have my back, through thick and thin. "Good, you should stay with her," Father says, relaxing at my explanation for traveling to the forest pack on this day.

I speak to my father now, explaining my distaste of the new king and my reasons for not staying in Glorall. "You would make a fine King one day." and I can hear his pride for me in his voice. When I look back to Tuari I think I see some pride in her too. But of course father has to ruin it by continuing to run his mouth instead of just staying quiet. And I am absolutely horrified by what he says.

"Levi, winter is around the corner. You are getting older and you will find yourself stuck with urges. You are both young and untried and to give in to such urges could lead to pups. What about you, Tuari, are pups what you wish? You both have much time left and children are not easy." he says glancing in between us both in almost worry. I am so shocked that these words so casually fall from his mouth that I freeze, unable to comprehend what to do or how to respond. How on earth could he ever think we would partake in such things!?!? And to ask Tuari if she wants pups!!!! It is unthinkable, and embarrassing for both her and I. We weren't even adults yet, not even mates, and he was jumping to such huge conclusions.

My fur stands on end in agitation, ears flattening, and a growl rumbling in my chest as I glare at my father with cold blue eyes. Now was the time I could really use mom around to strangle him with the leash she had on him. Out of the corner of my eye I see the silent 'hey!' of Tuari, feel her embarrassment, hear her snort. "We both have enough sense not to do something so idiotic. We both have more important things to deal with than pups, so don't you worry. In fact, you should be more worried about Ravenna and that boy Grayson," I say, a particular sharp edge to my voice at my clear dislike of my father's idiotic assumptions. Its hard to believe I was related to him in anyway.

"Tch," I tsked, my natural quirk coming through for Tuari to see for the first time. I calmed down, allowing my fur to settle, though my ears stayed down in distaste. "By the way, she's unable to speak, if you were wondering. But she makes due, she's adapted and found ways to communicate without a voice," I say, quickly trying to change the subject before I lost all patience with my father and literally went back to Glorall to find mother and have her drag him back by the ear. My chest puffs out slightly in pride at her intelligence and strength to over come such a disability.

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
