Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

tonight the foxes hunt the hounds...

It all happened so fast. The cold press of her nose to Rhaegal’s bringing an odd flip to her stomach though she didn’t truly understand her own actions at this point. Her steely blue eyes connect with his odd, two toned ones and she sees the flit of something across his face before she pulls away. She smiles a bit smugly to herself, a bit proud that she had cracked through his otherwise cocksure attitude before introducing herself and her sister. Embla, naturally, is entranced along with the boy’s blonde brother and despite the urge she managed not to roll her eyes. At the mention of this mystical ‘sea’ that lay so far away her slender tail wags hurriedly ultimately revealing her own excitement at the idea.

In the blink of an eye they are off, all of them trotting along the open fields, skirting the rocky outcroppings toward this Glorall they spoke of. It is the first time they had been out of their mountain home and her eyes grew wide at the expansive world around them. Just how big was it? She couldn’t help but wonder and in that moment she suddenly felt very small. Her slender legs pumped to keep up with the adults and keep herself in step with her sister. Occasionally she would brush against Em for comfort, her russet-tinged sister the anchor of normalcy in a suddenly widening world. So busy was she taking everything in she didn’t see the gray brother deviate from their raucous game and pull up beside her. Not until she felt the press of his nose in to her cheek did she inhale sharply, her foxlike face turning suddenly just in time to catch the haphazard grin on his face before he raced away. She yipped after him once in play defiance, but before she could consider retaliation the foreign, salty scent pricked at her nose.

Her brows crinkled just as her nose did as she inhaled again, the brininess of the air a vast difference from the clean air of the mountains. Soon after the grasses grew sparser, loose dirt turning to sand beneath her slender paws and greatly effecting her movements. This stuff moved too much she decided very quickly, slipping up more than once as her gait grew jerky and uncertain. The great dune rose before them, her eyes narrowing as her gaze lifted to the top of it where it seemed to meet the sky. Only with Praetor spoke did her eyes flit from him, to Rhaegal, and back trying to comprehend what he was saying. He easily scales the dune and of course Embla is right behind her, her thirst for knowledge always greater than any common sense she might possess. Not wanting to be left behind she attempts to follow quickly, small paws scrabbling on the loose sand as she attempts to scale it. A noise from the brothers grabs her attention but she looks too late and only sees a somewhat contrite looking Rhaegal following his black brother up the dune as well.

With only slight struggling on her slender legs she finally tops the dune next to her sister. Her jaw goes slightly slack as she looks out at the seemingly endless water before them. It was like the small ponds they played in around Spirane and yet vastly bigger. Unconsciously she whines softly, suddenly missing the familiarity of their home. She sits as Em does, pressing closer to her sister so their coats mingle together a mixture of silver and gold and holding to the only familiar thing close by. Constantly her eyes rove around the area before them but she makes no move to approach, merely flicking an ear at Viserion’s question and waiting to see what they will do or if the water will reach up and simply swallow them whole.
